I uninstalled Twitter, Instagram & Facebook from my phone 3 weeks ago. Had to keep WhatsApp (fortunately/unfortunately). This is my experience so far, Garbage In - Garbage Out. Most of what we consume from social media the moment we wake up tends to shape our day. Starts off well, usually, but can turn the moment you see some content you don't agree with. We're attracted to the negative content (twars, beefs etc) and leave little room for good wholesome content like this talk. I don't regret being "offline" because it's allowed me to filter my own thoughts and seek out content I want to see, especially my personality interests. Twitter & Instagram show you recommended content, instead of the things you've clicked like on. Also, it's common for the algorithm to direct you to content "because you watched/liked" this, that's all you'll keep seeing. That said, social media has ruined us, you won't have much time to watch and listen to good self help content because you're scrolling endlessly

I love some of the content here. There is a mindset shift that we need as black people. However, I am firmly against the notion that an individual is somehow enslaved because they are only employees. When you do start your own business, you will need those so-called slaves to work for you, and you will need them to be skilled and work hard. Some of the wealthiest people in the world were not creators/founders but employees. People like Steve Ballmer or Satya Nadella were/are lifelong Microsoft employees; they have generational wealth. So let's encourage entrepreneurship by all means but do not look down upon people with just a salary because everyone can't have a side hustle either; otherwise, productivity within companies would suffer. Even in the most prominent economies, the percentage of entrepreneurs doesn't crack 20% of the population. Let's encourage wealth creation and retention without denigrating the very people we will NEED to build that wealth.
