Fun fact: Daniel Vávra wrote the whole story 10 years ago, originally the plan was to release the game divided in three parts - acts, in 8 month intervals. This plan was changed due to the monstrous size of the whole project and after 4 years of development they released KCD1 - Act 1, and after another 6 years of development they will release KCD2 - Act 2 and 3 together in one game. Henry's story will be finished, but they already said that it doesn't mean they can't tell another story with Henry. :)

Im glad we are getting more Henry, his story in the first game was a really well done coming of age story. You felt like you were actually progressing. Learning to read so you could actually perform later game quest successfully. Being shit at fighting to becoming a knight felt great. Full faith in warhorse because they are making a game from actual passion.

KCD1 is up their with RDR2 in for me in terms of how blown away i was by their open worlds. KCD was also a dream game for me i always wanted a Grounded Medieval game. With KCD2,GTA6, Mafia Old Country, Ghost of Yotei its great having games that are more grounded in the real world. Both games will likely be the best open games of 2025.

They said in the dev interview that KCD2 will not do away with the saving system as it's an integral part of the gameplay mechanic

A good thing too as it was one of the best things about KCD1. Save scumming and choices not mattering has been a blight on RPGs and the saving system massively reduced that. It only needed a few tweaks to be perfect which they apparently did address.

@@alexDD-j6e It's good having limited saves, but having it tied to an item feels meh, especially when in the first game you could lose hours of progress due to lack of or badly placed autosaves, and many quests were very vague about their consequences so save scumming felt justified

It’s a medivel simulator game and despite this the first game was WAAAAAY to easy once you learn how to master strike. With perfect blocking and riposting being confirmed to have easier timings in kcd2 AND enemies still not being able to feint I’m just hoping for an arena pvp mode to get my combat “realism” out of this game because it’s unrealistically being able to solo a group of knights in first 5 hours. Or for the sake of god. Remove the bullshit hardcore mode and add a HARD MODE.

The combat was my least favourite part about KCD, I stuck through it for the story, world and characters. I'll play KCD2 for the same reason. Unless they radically changed the combat system to give the player more control and based difficulty on that, I'm not really interested either way

@@G8oo8N8 dont rush it, train with Bernard, if you get surrounded by multiple enemies, run away or keep walking back and master striking. If you play the game slowly and do side missions etc. its very doable, and great fun
