One thing I liked about the UI in this game is that, in lower difficulties, they stick the radar to the top of the screen. That way, even if you do end up relying on it to find your way, you still have a bit of peripheral vision to see around you and where you are going and what you are passing. Even better if you play on the hardcore difficult where the radar is just gone and you have to navigate the world with your wits.

A good example is that Henry can't read at the beginning, so any text you read is going to be jumbled up but once Henry starts learning how to read from a scribe, texts become less jumbled. Combat too; the weekly tournament is impossible to win at the beginning but as you raise your skills, it gets a lot easier.

This game is severely underrated. Most players gave up too early and easily because they weren't super over powered by the first 10 minutes of the game. This game is realistic in the combat difficulty, you are a peasant with no formal combat training. Of course you are gonna get fucked up by bandits and trained soldiers. But over time, with training and practice, you can really notice the difference when you go from having to run away from a single bandit, to being able to clear out a camp of 5 - 6 bandits or Cuman soldiers by yourself.
@Jamushu11 ай бұрын
*First 10 minutes? You're not even surviving basic combat encounters **_10 hours in._* Except for the bandits loitering around Skalitz, lmao. I appreciate the realism and the dedication to the grind, tho. I'm not "The Chosen One"._* *_I'M JUST SOME SCRUB!"_* can be quite the kick in the nads for folk.
@austinseven472011 ай бұрын
Making you work for it was a major strength of the game. And even when you get good at the combat, there still remains risk. Even when I could take out whole Cuman camps with ease, I still had to flee certain fights due to overconfidence/ carelessness or just getting surrounded. While I could still dominate most encounters, it felt earned.
@voggers259311 ай бұрын
@@Jamushu A huge tip for this is just like a real soldier, train. Once Captain Bernard gives you your initial training to work with the Bailiff, you get the option to go train with him any time during the day you want. You can pay him to just immediately increase your skills, or you can spar with him to level your skills naturally. If you spend even just a day or two (in-game) sparing with him, he'll quickly get you up to snuff with the basics of what you need to survive in actual combat with low skilled opponents. Then you can do bandit hunting missions for him to get even more experience, as well as money to buy gear with and train even more. I believe this was the intended way the developers wanted you to do it, but left you to discover for yourself that maybe you should spend some time practicing before trying it for real.

I'll never forget my one attempted playthrough. A cowardly knight wanted to fight me so I choked him out then took his armour. Three hours later I was in a town looking for the food merchant and a guard stops me for no reason, accuses me of theft then takes away the armour and everything I bought since then.

You didn't have enough charisma/speech/intimidation. Multiple ways to avoid that including paying the bribe.

This game is so freaking good. Once you get the combat down it’s actually very rewarding and feels great to take down a fully armored knight to take his gear.

The combat is the one thing I don't like as much as other things I still like it because if you don't have Master striking your combos gets parried by anybody

they were all unarmored archers, quite possibly easier than fighting 1 armored cuman

Ah, Kingdom of Cum, the game where I spent hours --killing and stealing-- grinding to get amazing gear just to then get bent over a barrel by the first knight I autistically ran at because I forgot to actually train with my gear. Fun times.

It’s unbelievably bad, especially on console. Loading screen simulator. Plus its obvious it was designed by newbie devs because yikes

@@AlphaQHard Bro doesnt know a single thing about this game. Plus that's gotta be the hardest bait comment I have ever read in my life. The story is nice, the gameplay is 10/10 and the loading time is perfect (I got a PC that's like 8 years old and it runs perfectly even with mods). Edit: The world building and the combat is 11/10 realism and the level up mechanic is peak.
@AlphaQHard11 ай бұрын
@@derlitter The janky target tracking is definitely super realistic. I often lose track of my opponent when Im fighting someone in real life. Im serious about this game being bad, but considering its done by a small newbie team then I guess its pretty good. I just don’t understand people who glaze this game like its the best thing since sliced bread when it has a ton of issues and is mediocre at best.

Later in the game, a complex and multi-task quest, upon which the successful resolution of another complex multi-task quest depends on a swift completion of, all hinged on me needing the help of the executioner. I was like, fuck. 🤣

One of the few games That I played the first time when the game first release, didn't finish for some reason after playing an excruciating amount, came back years later, rushed the main quest while doing very little side stuff, finish the game, did almost everything you could possibly do, feel accomplished, came back to the game again early last year. And already want to replay

The game is ridiculously well done, so incredibly detailed. I just wish I could finish it because the effort and attention to detail required is insane. Legit need a guide and to farm for an afternoon in the prologue to get through the game but it’s still amazing.
