Huh, Luxord is a shockingly nice change of pace from the rest of the orginisation in his interaction with Roxas. He's just chill, has no beef with him, doesn't try to fabricate any. Actually seems to respect him and is just generally pleasant.

@@liamwhite3522I like this. He wasn't an optional fight, but yeah that he had so few lines and almost as little screentime in KH2 is a tragedy because I like him a lot and his animation in his fight suggests they really cared so I wonder if he had more significance at some point but it got cut.

The way Nobodies talk about not having feelings sounds like Xehanort told them that so they actually have a motivation to be a part of the Organization. If they didn't believe that to begin with they would probably come to the conclusion that they do have feelings to some extent. They almost seem silly saying "naw, you're not feeling anything, you're just remembering what it feels like to be worried". That's just what it seems like to me, the truth is probably 10 times more complicated :)

There's something really funny about a tiny Roxas. Ugh, Xaldin. He makes Roxas look good at this understanding emotions thing. Probably even makes Axel look better. 10:20: oh no he's going to ask "what is love" isn't he... well, uh, close enough- BABY DON'T HURT ME, DON'T HURT ME, NO MORE 11:42: "Once Kingdom Hearts is complete, you'll be able to do all kinds of things." Is the game talking directly to Dan? ... and then Luxord accidentally breaks the fourth wall in the very next scene. But it's in character.

I never realized how Luxord - the card user, fits so perfectly in Wonderland, and Xigbar- the dude with an actual eye-patch, face scar, and guns, fits so perfectly in Pirates of the Caribbean. And now I'm kinda upset that this is not the case in Kingdom Hearts 2 XD.

"A talking doorknob?" Says the person who, not too long ago, encountered a talking candelabra and a talking clock. So Luxord plays tennis now? I guess he is a fan of games in general. Good to see that the recurring thing of beating up Lock, Shock, and Barrel continues with this game. This marks the...third time, I think, they've come up as a miniboss in a Kingdom Hearts game. Possibly fourth if you count the floating cage Heartless. Also, it's pretty neat to see them go to worlds from the older Disney movies again. In Kingdom Hearts II, all of the worlds were from movies from the late 80s and onward. Nice to see Wonderland and Neverland here.

I'm wondering this about nobodies: The true nobodies are dusks, lacking identity, memory and individuality, heck they even lack a consistent proportion, whereas organisation styled nobodies are sort of pseudo-Somebodies, since they have unique form, identity, memory and personality, and therefore have emotions of a sort, a sort of lingering echo of the human they once were, hence the lament that they aren't meant to exist: they aren't, because they're halfway between human and dusk. Therefore I wonder if a nobody could generate a fragile/temporary heart in itself, simply by existing and acquiring interests and disinterests, hence why Demyx has a profound distaste for exerting himself, and is also one of the most relatable outside the main trio. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it's my personal headcanon anyway

@@roy4173 KH2 makes it clear that Axel had a heart-like connection with Roxas (which also responds to Sora). Dream Drop Distance spells things out. Assuming you can trust the new information... One of the problems with the onion-style exposition, with what appears to be truth at a given layer being revealed to have been lies when you penetrate deeper, is that it leaves you with no trustworthy authorities to rely on for information about anything that hasn't been shown on-screen in one game or another.

Kingdom Hearts 2 corrects hours later. Can we at least say Nobodies have no Hearts(tm)? Kingdom Hearts 2 asks. NO! Screeches Dream Drop Distance. Well, how about Sora owning the Keyblade? Kingdom Hearts pleads. But even as they say it, they see Birth by Sleep approaching, holding a Struggle bat.

If you think Days is bad about not having any actually new worlds, with its mixture of KH1 and KH2 worlds (and, I guess, CoM for CO and, technically, Twilight Town), wait until you get to Re:coded. In fairness to Saix, if Days was your first KH game, the worlds would be new to the player, and they are new to Roxas... Spoilers for Re:coded... .. .. .. .. The basic premise is that you're exploring worlds based on what Jiminy wrote in his Journal during KH1 (and CoM since he included the Thank Namine message in it before starting a new Journal for KH2) so it's not surprising that the game's worlds are (some of) the worlds from KH1. And then there's a Castle Oblivion world, where you get to revisit variations of the worlds from the rest of coded, and getting the best ending requires you to visit each "world" a minimum of 3 times (they have 3 endings - and the unlock conditions for at least one ending in each world are obscure and specific, so it can take multiple attempts if you're not using a guide - and some are skill-based, so can take multiple attempts even with a guide...).

IF it takes "happy" to fly, yes. It could also prove that you don't need happy thoughts after all - just some fairy dust, and faith that it's possible. Currently we have three stated "facts" and two observed facts producing two contradictions: 1) The ability to wield the Keyblade comes from your heart. 2) Nobodies have no hearts. 3) Flight requires happy thoughts (which come from the heart). A) Roxas, a Nobody, can wield a Keyblade. B) Roxas, a Nobody, can fly. There are three obvious explanations: 1) and 3) are both wrong; 2) is completely wrong (all Nobodies have hearts; 2) is usually right, but Roxas is an exception (Nobodies, except Roxas, have no hearts).

Like, his somebody had both the body and heart of a Keyblade holder, even a master, and even Xion, who's not even a real Nobody can wield a Keyblade just because she's made from the memories of a wielder, so...why the hell can't Xemnas wield a damn Keyblade?

Valtharr Maybe potential spoilers Probably because of his direct somebody’s pseudo incomplete nature, Terra nort basically had a mid wipe uppon his creation, all that he remembered was his name Xehanort, and the only other thing he had was a hazy sense of his former self and eg: his great passion for researching the darkness, other worlds, keyholes, kingdom hearts, and the Keyblade war ect. Having lost both his and Tera’s memories he probably lost his ability to use the Keyblade as a result.

A theory says that the reason Roxas can wield a Keyblade is because he's got the heart of another wielder, Ventus, within him. Which would also explain why he looks like him. Logic behind it would be that when Roxas was born, Sora was still keeping Ventus' heart within his own, and when he became a Heartless it had to end up somewhere, right?

@@Agusloquillo The official explanation from Nomura is that it's Sora's heart that allows Roxas (and Xion) to wield the Keyblade, and they're both wielding Sora's Keyblade (the Kingdom Key from Destiny Islands) even when they're both wielding it at the same time. When Roxas duel-wields in the opening to KH2, then that's officially Sora's and Ven's Keyblades. And, yeah, officially, Ven's heart went to Roxas, which provides the in-universe explanation for why there were only two hearts released from Sora in Hollow Bastion, and why we don't have Ventus' Nobody anywhere. Real world, it's because Ventus hadn't been invented during KH1's production...
