Okay so if I understand this correctly, a person can split up into two beings. One of them has a heart but no body, the other has no heart but has a body. In KH1, there was no Nobody - you just have the beings that seek out and devour hearts, and appear whenever a heart is consumed by darkness (and may or may not actually be the disembodied hearts) - called, more or less naturally enough, the Heartless. Then they introduced a second half of people and called them Nobodies and said they were based on the body left behind when the heart was consumed. And so things get weirder from there.

The only argument that I think can even begin to make sense here is that dumb point about needing hearts to have emotions. Heartless don't seem to have any emotions or intelligence whatsoever, the important Nobodies definitely have some emotions no matter how much they and everyone else denies it.
@rmsgrey5 жыл бұрын
@@coastersplus Heartless are driven by pure instinct/emotion. Nobodies (at least the important ones) are suggested to remember and mimic emotions rather than actually feeling them. There's actually 4 elements to each person; The Body, The Heart, The Soul and The Memory and it appears that the Memory is kind of integral to all three of the latter ones. People's memory can be manipulated and caused to fade away under a lot of conditions and recalling someone's influence on events can cause them to be resurrected as was the case for Malificent. That is why data seems to be able to interact with people's hearts, because the data is something tangible. That is why DiZ/Ansem and Naminé seem to be able to collaborate on uploading people's memories and 'data'.

Maybe the most frustrating part of this series metaphysics to me is that "Body" and "Soul" clearly do not mean what we think they do. Roxas is Sora's Body + His Soul. Namine is Kairi's Soul + Sora's Body. That shouldn't be possible on it own, but then Sora stops being a heartless and gets his body and soul back... But Roxas and Namine continue to exist. That means that there are now three Sora "bodies" and two Sora "souls." The only way I can make sense of it is if "Body" does not mean physical matter, but something like "form" or "image." Roxas and Namine are then made up of the "form or image" of Sora, which at least makes more sense then trying to explain how there are three Sora bodies co-existing at once. As for Soul, you can make some sense of it if Soul means "animating force." An animating force could be split among three beings without necessarily diminishing.

@@isadoracostahamsi163 It's not precise, but you could call KH3 the tenth Kingdom Hearts game without being very wrong. Dan has covered five so far. Birth By Sleep is basically Kingdom Hearts 0 - on a similar scale to KH1 and KH2; DDD is maybe 2/3 of that; the X games are most likely going to be another MST3K of the cutscene video (though Back Cover isn't exactly a retelling of X and doesn't touch at all on the Union Cross events that have happened more recently - the game is episodic, and isn't done yet); 0.2 is just a few hours to play unless you're ultra-completionist; and KH3 is around 30 hours.

I'm sure there's already a dozen people shouting at you what "important" things you forgot to note, but one such thing that I think might maybe possibly be plot-relevant to track is who has keyblades and which ones. Like, Sora, Roxas, and Xion all use the Kingdom Key, oftentimes simultaneously to each other or even multiples of it by the same person. Riku is also able to command the Kingdom Key for a brief period, and uses Soul Eater (I think that's the name) after that. King Mickey uses either Star Seeker or a golden Kingdom Key (I think I've heard people call it the Dark Kingdom Key because it was found in the world of darkness, but I'm unclear on that part myself), although it's unclear if they are separate keyblades or just different forms of the same weapon. And near the end of KH2, Kairi is handed and successfully wields a thus-unknown flowery keyblade.

Does anybody get why "Dark Riku" looks like Ansem/Xehanort???
@MrAatch5 жыл бұрын
So that one actually *does* make sense (mostly). Ansem basically becomes a personification of Riku's darkness during Chain of Memories, so "Dark Riku" looks like him because that's what his darkness "looks like".

So technically shouldn’t 358/2 days come after chain of memories if you are to play the games in order?
