If it wasn't the sole focus of how you get combat abilities, then I would actually be ok with the dream eaters, I'd probably find 1 or 2 I like (haven't seen em all, but the bat one that Riku starts with is cool). With that said its kingdom hearts and usually by the time you hit dream drop distance you have been groomed enough to know everything has a point in this series. You realize that Donald and Goofy couldn't come with because it was the Mark of Mastery which is a Test Plus they go with Sora only and not Riku Also they couldn't really put in a Colosseum cause Hardware limitations on the 3DS and they didn't want to change anything that was already done when porting it to the PS4

Justification of Dream Eaters existence: Sora was in dream worlds where Dream Eaters resided, and they only appear in words that are sleeping. No need for Donald and Goofy (yes, in that particular order) to be there as it was only a mastery test for Sora and Riku. The duo would not come unless something terrible was going to happen to Sora and they did when Master Xehanort was about to add Sora to Organization XIII.

Jirard I really wish you played the games in order of release date. This is not only best for understanding the plot, but it will also show you how gameplay has evolved over time. Kingdom Hearts 2 has the best combat system and general gameplay compared to the rest of the games.

You don't have to complete everything in the game to unlock the secret ending, you just have to collect all the golden letters in the credits. I've never completed the game in its entirety but I've pretty much always managed to collect all the golden letters in the credits and still get that ending everytime.

I do admire the Hub Worlds of Prankster's Paradise, Country of the Musketeers, and Symphony of Sorcery being one of my personal favorites. Should've keep The Coachman, Ratigan, Zira, or even the Mad Doctor as Secret Bosses. After all we got "Dreams" after all why not Include some "Nightmares"!

1 thing that NEEDS to be noted about the Disney worlds in this game is that they are NOT dreams, as in “they are not real”. Every single world in This game (such as Monstro, Tron) are all real worlds in the KH canon. However, in the sleeping realm they are trapped in a never ending time loop. Yen Sid explains this slightly in one of the flashback cutscenes but let me give you an example to make it more comprehensive. Imagine the 7 worlds in DDD are actually different Tragic events throughout human history. World War 2, World War 1, 9/11, Kennedy Assassination, Luther King jr. assassination, The volcanic eruption of Pompei, and Satora Iwata’s death. However, these moments in history were trapped in another realm/dimension, stuck in s never ending loop. Meaning in this realm, World War 2 would occur over and over, for all of eternity, without end. That’s what the Disney worlds are basically like in DDD here. The events of the Hunchback of Notre dame world in the real reality have already happened. However, in the sleeping realm the events of the past are struck In a neverending time loop. This is why Sora and Riku need to open the 7 sleeping keyholes. Unlocking these will free the worlds from their trapped state and will allow them to fully return the real world. This task will also get give Sora and Riku The Power of Waking which is a pivotal it in KH3’s story.

This game looks fun and I think the Dream Eaters look cute. I also really like that this originally came out on the 3DS, I hope to get one someday. It would be really nice to have one of my favorite franchises be portable, albeit an entirely new game. Also, switching back and forth between Sora and Riku has really piqued my interest. Why does everyone keep saying KH2FM and not simply KH2? Is there a difference in the combat THAT large enough to view them as 2 seperate games and not just a game + it's upgraded version?

@@spark9189 That's what I was thinking, I knew about the extra boss fights and locale, and if I'm not mistaken a brand-new weapon or 2 as well. But despite those additions I thought it was essentially still the same game/engine/combat system, etc etc. Basically KH2: Director's Cut lol. Having only personally played vanilla KH2 (granted, I've "100%'d" it on Proud 3 different times), I was just curious if I'd been missing out on a brand-new experience for like 12-13 years!!! Lol. As it stands, I don't feel the need to revisit KH2 just for the FM extras. Although, I do feel slightly incomplete as a KH's fan...what with having never faced Lingering Will before! 😳😳😳 Lol

I JUST finished watching the KZbinrs React episode regarding the fan-made Bel-Air movie (the episode, of course, featured you), and I gotta say, what you said about Jack Black's KZbin channel was pretty big. Especially being said by The Completionist. Still, though, it was cool to see you on KZbinrs React. Your reaction was awesome. Also, badass new intro, dude! Anyway, I like Dream Drop Distance, though I only have the original 3DS port, so beating Julius is impossible without Superglide. And your Spirits don't even help you fight him! You're on your own! With Sephiroth, that was fine, 'cause in Kingdom Hearts 1, it was a secret match in the Coliseum, and in 2, he challenged Sora in Radiant Garden. But with Julius in this game? Oh, you've gotta fight a giant character who's a cross between the Frankenstein Monster and Pete? Welp, sorry, but your Dream Eater buddies can't help you with this one.

With Kingdom Hearts I treat all the lore as fluff. The relevant stuff is the emphasis on friendship. As cliche as it is, Kingdom Hearts is all about overcoming adversity with friendship.

did anyone else enjoy the the dream eaters, I mean yeah getting abilities through them was a terrible idea but besides that I loved having these little guys helping me against their evil versions. I feel like he just hating on them cause he had to collect them all and they kind of replaced 2 characters that havent been party members since 1 and 2 who wouldnt make since to even have.
