There was a mod for KH1 called Critical Mix that changed around a lot of the code and such, and it actually uses this room for the final fight and an unlockable tournament cup. It's quite fun to play in against different bosses due to the varying platforms that make it feel less like a room and more like a natural creation.

I don't know if you know this already, but during your time in the Green Room, if you don't talk to Leon, and try to escape using the doors to the alleyway or the red room, Leon says something along the lines of "It's dangerous out there. Don't wander off." And "Just can't sit still, can you?" I found this out while just being bored, as one does. I actually broke Traverse Town on that save file, but soft reset it, and discovered this. It's hecka cool to my brain, because I don't know why. Just wanted to put this out there

If I remember correctly from the early days of the original KH's release, the reason the Bizarre Room's stove grate has a hitbox is because you can cast Blizzard on it to shut the stove off before the Trickmaster has a chance to light its bowling pins on fire. Would only work if you got all the evidence boxes and earned Blizzard before the fight, of course. Not sure I ever tested it myself, though . . .

About the stove in Wonderland: during the Trickmaster fight, casting Blizzard on the stove at any point makes the TM unable to light its sticks and use its more powerful attacks.

short explanation on why the journal-text glitch may be happening is that when the journal is loaded, all of the text inside of it is being loaded to memory. for some reason, this either takes the place of the existing event text in the room or it offsets where in the memory the text is supposed to be looking. i.e. either alice's text is stored in the second slot of text for the room and it was replaced due to cacheing, or when you talk to alice, the game wants to look for the text at position 2, but the journal causes some +1024 offset, or some arbitrary number like that, and doesn't reset the offset since that's would presumably be the location of where the journal text would be

Something I realized in wonderland is that there’s two separate lotus forests/bizarre rooms, one for when sora is normal sized and one where sora is “big” but the room is shrunk down. Not really a detail, but more a way to give the illusion sora is big but I never really considered it lol.

The subtitle glitch can happen other ways too - I got the 1.5/2.5 for PC and in the cutscenes before fighting Ansem on Destiny Islands I paused a bunch to check my phone and after one of the pauses quotes from the underground cavern kept appearing alongside the glitchy "Sora obtained X" ones. Zero clue how to replicate it though but I didn't do anything too weird.

So I’m not sure if you covered this in a different vid but this is a glitch I’ve ran into more than once in my life. In Neverland, for that room where you fight the Shadow Sora, if you go back there later to grind and try to open the panel to go down to a lower floor, I’ve had instances where Sora just didn’t hit the loading zone, meaning he went down to the lower room, without anything from the room, or the exits there, actually loading. Now, thankfully by flying upward back to the entrance he can just hit the loading zone correctly and you’ll actually be in the room, but it’s kind of weird if you’re not expecting it. Think of it like that under Piañta village glitch from Mario Sunshine

Alright, I know of something stupid and inconsequential that I’ve never seen mentioned by anyone else. There’s a set of optional dialogue with Tidus on Destiny Islands day 2 that’s missable if you fought him on the first day. Once you’ve fought him, selecting the second (or third, if you’ve also fought Selphie and Wakka) option when you talk to him will just loop the same response from him over and over again. If you haven’t fought him yet, he has a new set of random responses for day 2. For some reason you can read the new responses from Selphie and Wakka on day 2 regardless of how many times you fought them, but not Tidus.

Have you heard about the oathkeeper cutscene glitch? If you dodge roll into the cutscene Sora won't behave and instead swings his keyblade around everywhere. If you're not familiar, it was shown off in a GDQ a few years ago

Ohhh hey I actually got that Wonderland dialogue glitch a little while ago while I was replaying the game! It was during the part after Alice went missing and all of a sudden the characters were saying stuff like “Map Jump Test” and “attained the power of healing”. I had no idea how it happened so it was kinda cool to see it brought up here. :)

Something to note, the "Obtained e" glitch isn't possible to do in the PS2 version. You're only allowed to pull up the journal in those scenarios in the HD releases. The PS2 pulls up the regular pause menu you get during a battle.

The stovetop in Wonderland has a hitbox because it is actually used by the Trickmaster battle (I mean, in a way that doesn't help the boss)! You can turn it off, if you already unlocked Blizzard by that point, which prevents the Trickmaster from lighting its arms on fire. Very useful in a proud mode run.

Maybe it's a little to obvious but you never in any of your parts mention something about the traverse town accessory shop. If you light the fireplace inside the chimney outside will have smoke coming out. Like wise putting out the fire will stop the smoke. It's interesting because it's like the only time I can remember being able change what happens in one room to affect another room without the change being permeant.

So I think your vids have helped me realise KH1 is my favourite game (over KHII). I think the reason is that it's more weird, and quaint. KHII is a more streamlined and combat focused game, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but it is a difference. Like, (is any of this for real or not) there are so many little things that didn't affect the overall experience much but just made it feel more special, more handcrafted with love. Examples: Trinities, Dalmations, being able to pick up and throw barrels, the coloured boss HP bars opposed to multiple green ones, the Neverland Clock Tower chests, Jungle Slider mini-game, freezing Hollow Bastion bubbles, collecting postcards, Sora's heartless being playable not just a cutscene, more hidden chests, flowers in Wonderland, climbing trees/poles, doing the back to the wall shuffle along ledges, list goes on. While KH1 also had bigger strengths like better story pacing, better Disney world and character integration, more exploration and platforming, these littler things make it FEEL more special. Cause at the time it was special, it was a weird game by some zip obsessed Japanese guy mixed with Disney.

This may or may not be obvious but the map on the table on the deck of Captain Hook’s ship is actually a map of Neverland. I had never even considered it until recently let alone knew what Neverland’s map look like (had to google it) so I assume this is true of most people as well. I feel like it’s obscure enough to be in a video. Also kind of obvious but the guy on the suits & dresses store in the second district of Traverse Town is the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland. One last detail I took embarrassingly long to realize is that the wizard and defender heartless are counterparts for Donald and Goofy. No idea how I only just realized that on my latest playthrough lol. Love your videos, especially the KH1 details videos

I have a weird memory that doesn't make sense. When I was new to Kingdom Hearts, I remember beating Deep Jungle and I got the Keyblade from there, then I specifically remember walking up the staircase in Disney Castle that leads away from the Gummi Ship Hangar, while holding the keyblade from deep jungle. The same staircase from the cutscene when donald and goofy are saying "we gotta protect the world border. ORDER!". But this would have been impossible in kh1 unless there is an action replay code to access maps that were only used in cutscenes. Anyone else have a memory of doing something in a game that shouldn't have been possible? It's like the Gaming Mandela Effect lol.

Another fun detail it doesn't seem like you've discovered yet is in the Cave of Wonders / Monstro Chambers with multiple barrels. If you stack one barrel on top of another and then jump on top of the stack to try and get extra height and reach some chests before you have high jump that you wouldn't otherwise be able to reach, the barrel on the top of the stack will break itself once Sora lands on it.

So not sure if this is true, but there was a guide I was closely following on YT cause I wanted to relive the adventure of the whole kingdom hearts series starting with the first game. And apparently, after you leave the islands and make your way to Traverse town, there's an NPC who looks like another version of Tidus. Supposedly, if you speak to him 1,000 times, his usual conversation then changes to how he isn't Tidus from your home town or accidentally blurts out something to that effect. In Aladdin's world Agrabah, there's a point in the game where specific NPCs only show up for a brief time before you never see them again. One of them looks like Wakka. Supposedly if you speak to the NPC 10,000 times, his conversation will change to how he misses playing Blitzball back in the islands.

You can actually cast Blizzard on the stove in the Bazzar room. Doing so actually prevents the the Trick Master from lighting his batons aflame. Makes the fight a lot easier especially on level 1.

So I know when sora floats like that, it means he is in a falling state and there is a little line that traces down to detect if he is "grounded" or not (I don't know it specifically for KH, but it it extremely common practice in games). Sometimes the ray misses at certain steep angles resulting in endless falling animation while in place. Now here's where the speculation comes in: Perhaps when Sora is falling like that, he is accumulating velocity. It feels strange that the rock's damage would react this way, but perhaps when sora finally collides with it, it detects a mass of great velocity striking it, and therefore it breaks. Alternately, maybe it's a fail-safe when non-essential objects are blocking sora for too long.

there's a couple things i know of that i don't know if you've picked up on yet.(maybe) i know that in ps2 KH, you can get an elixir from the FF trio in Traverse Town if you actually beat Leon. they give it to you before sending you off from TT. the next one i know is also from ps2 KH, idk if it's in 1.5 remix or any of the other reissues. haven't been able to get it to happen.(playing 1.5 hd remix on pc) but anyways, walk in and out of Gepetto's shop at least 30 times, each time you walk in, talk to Pinocchio. eventually, he will give you a gummi ship blueprint that Gepetto(PINOCCHIO, i was wrong!) made. Gepetto will also give you a gummi blueprint for every certain 1000s of heartless you kill. they're all FF themed. i do know this much is still true of 1.5, so i might be able to get Pinocchio to give me it yet. EDIT: I GOT HIM TO DO IT FINALLY! Pinocchio will still give you Chocobo if you walk in and out of the shop, at least 30 times and talk to Pinocchio each time to him each you go in to Geppeto's shop in 1.5 remix on pc!

also, did you know that if you jump when shadows are flat, they'll come back up? Leon says they're attracted to the keyblade, so if you jump the shadows try to follow it. even Sora's shadow follows this principle in Neverland!

The traverse town soft lock was crazy if you ever make another KH1 random things video on Destiny islands you can’t get selphies HP below 1 by teching her ranged rope attack even though it does damage to her

Also if you grind enough to get scan on destiny islands it looks like selphies HP bar does drop to 0 after you tech her for damage but she’s still alive I could be mistaken about this though bc it’s been awhile since I’ve done it but that’s what I remember happening

Not sure if you already include this but I think you might've missed the complex exp & abilities that the game never tells you about. What I mean is that what weapon you choose/exchange and what answer you gave to the fake Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie in certain order/pattern literally impacts Sora's growth. For abilities, if you choose the mickey staff in the start of the game aside that you an extra MP bar, you get stun impact and ripple drive earlier after certain amount of level up but other abilities like Zantetsuken will acquired very late in the game. And as for exp, there 3 types of exp growth depending on what answer give them in a certain order. I don't remember what it called but it pretty much goes like this, first " Fast but gets slower after lvl 36", second "moderate", and third "slow but gets faster after lvl 40". By pattern/order it depends on what or who you gave answer to first, second, third to gain any of the 3 exp growth.

Not sure if this explanation of the journal glitch is even correct but I'd wager, given that rooms in KH have different states that would be stored in memory, it could be that triggering the journal is offsetting the room event and its associated text, causing the game to read the incorrect data. What's also interesting is that the text/subtitles is referencing the correct party character e.g. when Donald is talking, the text says, "Donald obtained e" ('e' I'm assuming is just either a backup to make sure the game doesn't hard crash when it references something that can't be named, or it's just garbage data referencing the game's font list). For the cutscene voices going out of sync, it could be very well that it's reading other cutscene data for voice line triggers as well. Either way, it's a neat lil glitch. In slightly less technical speak, it's throwing everything out of sync and the game isn't realising something is wrong; think of it like a person taking your spot in a queue for an appointment, and the entire place is under the impression that it's actually you and proceeds as normal.

How about the End of the World Destiny Islands glitch before the Ansem battle? On top of the Seaside Shack entrance and next to the coconut tree there's an invisible ledge you can jump onto to infinitely jump out of the map or to go behind or underneath it.

The exploding rock was added in 1.5, I used to play 1 and jump up there, you would get stuck and stay floating

In regards to the one about the journal manipulation I actually did it on accident the day of pc release when I was streaming the game on discord to Friends who’ve never played the game before and we all just assumed it was a pc port issue. I managed to do it in Agrabah can’t remember what part in the world I do remember it was a cutscene when you’re flying on the carpet but the text got really messed up showing random symbols from other languages and such rather than in game text like this glitch showed I should probably try to recreate and record it at some point
