Listening to this have brought back so many memories.. Waking up on a Saturday and turning on the PlayStation 2 to play this game, while my mother would make me something to eat.. such simple times and it was the most precious memories that I have had as a kid. As I grow older, I miss out on this kind of excitement and after everything that has happened in the past couple of years, it was hard.. Lost my mother to covid, and I find myself not enjoying these kind of games lately, everything has been a blur and the stress of it all. One day I wish to just sit down and play the Kingdom Hearts game and try to relive the memories.

kingdom hearts is a story about adolescents finding their place in their world. They're young and innocent, especially Sora. Even the romance between Sora and Kairi is only vaguely romantic. Their friendships and bonds show the best side of humanity. One of the hardest hitting moments was playing Roxas at the start of KH2 and his arc ending with the line "I guess my summer vacation is over". He had to say good bye to the playful times with his friends in a bubble of safety to let Sora fulfill his purpose. All of the moments are heartwarming and wholesome despite some of the bittersweetness they may have. Combine that with the music composition, and that's why kh1 and 2 are some intensely memorable stories. Also, the ending of KH1 where Kairi reciprocates Sora's love and drew herself sharing the papau fruit with him...all with Simple and Clean playing in the background...god I wish relationships could be so simple like that

100% agree. In the end I always knew (for me) the games were medicore (graphics, how they adpated the disney stories) but all in all when I started a new game or just heard the music (like here), it was something that hit me. Looking back I think it’s the story about true friendship, how they overcome the darkness and finding their place, that gives me these chills. I think I wish we would have more of such friendships in real life.

I feel sorry for folks who never experienced the mind-blowing collaboration of Disney and Final Fantasy. It was almost too much. It was Sep '02, I was 14 . Having been raised on classic 2D Disney and then playing FF into my teens. FFX had released the summer before, and here was a game that was going to combine the undeniable cool and complex FF with the beloved heartwarming Disney.. !? I'm trying to describe what it was like but words fail to fully express the absolute magic that was this game. Concept, gameplay, story, design, voice acting, and of course music. It all just came together so wonderfully. 🌟

This game is so special to me, I feel like a part of me lives within the music, dialogue, and visuals of KH. I think she would love for you to replay them and think of her every step of the way.
