This movie was nightmare fuel for me. The scene where Shatner's crawling up the basement stairs haunts me to this day.

I just purchased the DVD of this movie a couple of weeks ago or so. Pretty scary movie if you're afraid of spiders! The producer of this movie had one heck of an imagination!
@sultaa8613 жыл бұрын
they had over 5000 tarantulas for this movie and the most of them got squashed during the movie...thats just sick

@@elimDBZ Yup. They even had a Spider Tamer in that movie, that would lead the Spiders through Keyholes or to the outside

I am so totally, 100% freaked out by spiders, especially tarantulas. However, I WILL watch this, by myself in necessary, simply because it stars William Shatner.

My biggest question in all this is how many actors' had to change their drawers numerous times during the making of this movie?

I came here after seeing a real life situation similar to this in Elko, NV. But whats going on there is an invasion of Lubber Grasshoppers. I remember seeing this movie as a kid.

Meanwhile, Down in "Peaceful Verde Valley" ... A direly cash-strapped Sir William valiantly "Strode" into his Arachnid-riddled Kingdom, still somewhat dewy from the lingering effects of "The Devil's Rain", pauses momentarily, then stiltedly says to his leading lady-in-waiting, "I think we're alone now", then proceeds to blow his cheesy wad whilst lustily "Bolling" a strikingly bodacious Tiffany with his ever-so stiff "Woody"; now fully relaxed, a self-involved Shatner takes a much deserved load-off and shares a "Bud" in "The Dark" with his new helmsman pal John Cardos. A polyester-infused, creepy-crawly "Nature Run Amok " classic lovingly released from the fine folks at "Shout Factory" ...

After Jaws, movie studios were looking for any kind of bug/animal to terrorize people with, worms, rats, bee's, bears, ants, dogs, etc....I saw all of them!

Fun Fact: William Shatner was 97 when he made this movie .

A cool aspect is that they used real tarantulas and didnt try to create giant spiders like all the other spider horror movies do.

0:28 - Wowies, I think the car actually ran over a real spider there, since CGI wasn't yet a thing in 1977. Did real spideys have to die?

I feel it was a poor ending with no path to resolution. It was as if it was still the middle of the movie. Or perhaps the producers were hoping for a part 2

Marcelino Aldebaran Alfaro del Toro Good for you. Still a good classic film.
@MarcelinoAldebaran7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's right. The movie keeps your attention the whole time, you don't want to lose a moment, but it's not scary. You can watch it alone at night and go to sleep peacefully after.
@mattgrizzle98847 жыл бұрын
It's a sci-fi thriller, not really meant to scare anyone out of a nights sleep. It was made to entertain and does just that. Plus it has a young Shatner so it's definitely worth watching.
