I played DD1 hundreds of hours. But I can't get into the DD2 for some reason. Any suggestion? Am I doing something wrong?

I don’t think you are I love them both but I really miss the 1st games town and hero management system. 2 has more polish and more interesting mechanics IMO but it was a step back to me to lose the town management long runs kind of system. I could see how for some that would kill the game all together for them.

as player of both, i can't go back to dd1 as often due to the slog fest and "false" difficulty inflation . DD2 is more strategic. What part you don't like and maybe I can provide a good hint? I'm 800 hours in and all vitrine completed. (still trying to beat radiant DD1 but the set back on losing a resolve 6 is mega annoying)

No, you are not doing something wrong. I am the same. The vibe is different, and I have not been able to get interested in it.

@@MobiusOneGaming Mobius personally I think its just a very different vibe. As much as I understand and agree that the grind is what made DD tedious, it can also be edited with the mods. And I just don't feel DD2 the same way I feel the descendant is much more akin to the old Lovecraft stories. It's just what we dig I think.

@@NielsMulvad Well at least you were truthful about it, thats my problem with many reviews are ignoring problems the first game has and acting that it doesn't have it in order to bash the 2nd game. But the fact that is based upon modding which me as a vanilla player wouldn't care less. I did have to install movement speed, quicker battle and scout faster in order to barely enjoy it as the grind is waaaaayy too annoying even on radiant, I can play DD1 modded but DD2 i can keep it vanilla. Nothing worse for me to have resolve level 6 heroes and have to spend a lot of gold just simply to increase accuracy and functionality because the game uses Accuracy/Dodge as a fake inflation to difficulty.

The reason why you skipped that fight was because you chose the option to skip it. Each hero has a preference of what to do at a location, including skip. On the bottom there were icons. Hold ALT and the description for those icons also appear

Hold ctrl to see what the icons mean. You did 0 damage because he had berserk.

And no I'm not contadicting myself. Usually ALT reveals more information, but in case of combat statuses, it's ctrl.

I honestly don't like the new approach for DD2 the whole riding around in a stagecoach and no longer having a base of operations to build up takes any desire of me to buy the game. I was hoping Kingdoms Mode would've implemented that but it doesn't.
