I'm pretty sure Carlos had the game before the cyclonic rift as he killed Sjan. See, as desert enters, cloudstone bounce a land and then make a zombie, then kodama triggers and you put the bounced land back, then you bounce desert, create a zombie and put desert into play with kodama. Repeat until everyone is dead

I saw the same line. Once Kodama + Sunscorched + Cloudstone + Active Field of the Dead were assembled, it was infinite, this around the 47:20 mark where flashing Endurance gets the first Kodama trigger to start the engine. Honestly, Kodama seems awesome but also like a major brain-burner because it combos with almost anything but only in really obtuse ways.

It is so crazy, I was thinking today about what could make a good counter to Thoracle and I was thinking Endurance would probably work. A little while later I watched these games and saw it in action. I couldn’t believe it lol. Think I’ll include it in my first cEDH deck and see how it works for me.

There's a few mistakes here and there in the gameplay. Between things like blocking with pilot tokens that should have entered tapped from Thalia and Cloudstone Curio bouncing a creature when a land was played, I don't think it would have any significant change in the outcome of the game, but it's something to look out for.

We slowly improve but it’s a lot harder to know what’s going on via Spelltable. Maybe someday we can hire someone to be a “judge” and watch the game live to keep things perfect. Until then hopefully we catch ‘em more often ;)

Everytime I see a Shorikai gameplay I get more tempted to build it. But I still debating between Shorikai and GAAIV for what would be a better stax deck

Carlos, could you not have won sooner? Cloudstone curio, kodama, field of the dead, and sunscorched desert. You flashed in endurance, which let you put a land into play from kodama. Cloudstone triggers returning sunscorched desert. Field of the dead triggers creating a zombie. Kodama triggers letting you put the sunscorched desert onto the battlefield. You ended here, but you could have let curio trigger returning an arbitrary land, field of the dead trigger making a zombie, Kodama triggers from the zombie letting you put in the arbitrary land, and curio let's you bounce sunscorched desert. It's a pretty complicated line of play, but i think you had the win the whole time :)

Rep the Chulane. Everyone just blows him up when I play him, so it is good to see him represented. Though a misplay when pact of negation delayed cost happens, Carlos did not have two blue to pay for it as he fetched a plains. :p All good otherwise.
