Elvis loved gospel music because it was the music his mother loved. He adored his mother. When he appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show he wanted to sing the song ‘Peace in the Valley’ but they didn’t want him singing gospel. Elvis said. “Peace in the Valley is my mother’s favourite song and I told my mother I was going to sing Peace in the Valley so I’m going to sing Peace in the Valley.” Ed Sullivan came on tv saying Elvis feels so strongly for this song and he sang the song Peace in the Valley.
