I've never seen any of the previous A.I. where the final 26 contestants were as close as the 2023 contestants all are. There is definitely a tight lifetime bond between them. I think Iam's Aloha spirit is the cause of that. So beautiful to see! ❤

I love it when the rest of the contestants and IAM share them 🎤 with everyone to sing. So, sweet of IAM to do that. I have never seen that before in this show. The winner always singing by him/her time before it's closed. But this new IAM shared his moment with the rest of all the AI contestants.

I just love seeing your reaction on Iam's journey on AI. The last time I watched American Idol was back in 2003, when we (Hawaii) had other contestants on the show. Awesome Result! Mahalo/Thanks for backing Iam! Like you I haven't watched American Idol in many, many years. James Blunt's song Monsters which I had never heard until Iam's audition, helped propel Iam to win this competition and created an international buzz that I caught onto via KZbin since American Idols isn't playing down here. I'm a native Hawaiian, living in New Zealand for the past 24 years, but I grew up in Kahalu'u down the road from Iam's home Kahuku. This journey brought me home for a while too. Aloha! 🤙

Now you know so many people died this year last year and 2021, 2020 and goes on, they are missed by love ones. Iam heals them with his music. My dad and grandma and brother passed away. Ill be seing them where ever i go. ❤ thank you Iam.

In later interviews, Iam said that he was still trying to recover from crying while watching Colin Stough's rendition of "I Still Talk to Jesus". It struck Iam because the lyrics brought back thoughts of his father. That explains why Iam's performance of "I'll Be Seeing You" at the American Idol finale show wasn't as strong as on his studio recording.
