Kingfish mayhem on Lake Macquarie - 5 legals caught !

Went from no fish to losing fish then mayhem as a school of kingfish decided to appear right where i was fishing.

Bloody hell Andrew well done what great fish and the fight is awesome. You know your fishing and we are lucky to get to see how it's done. Thank you I fixed my outboard today so all have to do is find somewhere to stay and have some good weather and hopefully before or after the full moon I get over there. I hear the full moon puts them off not sure if that's true

I think the full moon can be boom or bust Reg. I make sure im on the water before 1st light as that in my opinion is the best time along with the first few hours of light. At least your boats sorted 🙌

Aside from that shark i hooked not long ago nothing pulls line like they were i was definitely pumped 😂 definitely alot more exciting than jewys maybe cause of the visual hookups an amount of them 🤷‍♂️ an yer 1 guy was pretty close in the end out of desperation to hook up 😂 he still didnt but an then he went elsewhere.

It kept me busy Steve thats for sure, from no bites to a frenzy 🤣 i cant remember exactly how deep but most likely 20-30ft id say. Thats the depth i like fishing vibes an thats what i was doing out there until the kings showed up. An i was using 16lb line an leader mate 👍

@@stevesarginson6020 its rare when i do keep anything but it does happen once in a blue moon. An i dont have sponsors mate but definitely i do use alot of jackall stuff cause it works so good. Im happy to pay a bit more for lures line leader all that stuff that can give me any extra advantage to get quality fish. Iv never understood people who spend 60k on a boat only to use $50 combos or the cheapest lures possible 🤷‍♂️

@@stevesarginson6020 i use good fluorocarbon leader an good braid. U can feel more cast further when using a decent braided main line an having more abrasion resistance in the leader an better knot strenght is always a positive.

Hey Wil. It was a jackall mudsucker 110 i had randomly in the tackle box 🤣 came in handy i tried a few lures before i put that on an no luck even in the middle of the feeding pack.

I usually run 15lb leader on my spin gear and have 20lb daiwa j thread on my baitcaster as leader. Also im running 20lb braid on the baitcaster but only 10lb braid on spin.

@@Willsalmon96 id run 15lb braid an 15-20lb leader depends what your chasing an whats around. I step up to 20lb leader using swimbaits for big flathead or throwing surface for lake kings and big tailor. I wouldnt use 20lb under the bridge but 🤣 get busted too easy.

Hey mate, depending on wind cause these spots will b blow outs if its over 20kph. Theres plenty of bream an flattys down mannering park way on the cockle beds in 12-20ft of water. West of pulbah also has good fish at times but been quiet of late. Down around bolton point also has good cockle beds in the bay between there an toronto an wangi point has been fishing fairly good aswell. Hopefully that helps mate 👍

@@regkershaw hey Reg, boat goes in for repair on the 11th so not too long away. An the lake can definitely be a place of hit an miss. If your around the bait at least your chances should b better. Early morning or late afternoon will b your best shot with this moon getting bigger.

@@regkershaw rivers fishing well at the moment stacks of small jewys about if u fish around the rockwalls in 20-30 ft. In saying that the lake could fire tomorrow its just 1 of those places 🤷‍♂️

In the lake mate no worries. That was a 4-10lb rod with 15lb leader on it i was using. No snags there where i was so was a good fun fight.

@@user-bi2cu7mw5q a big kingy will give u some trouble on 20lb at the bridge. If i fished there id run 40-50 braid. They dont have far to swim to bust u off thats the problem. Inside the lake theres not much around so its easy enough on 15lb.
