Playing at my buddies last night i picked up Akuma since i knew him from SF a bit, and holy smokes I ran the room for a while. The teleport is so good Jae. His air ball is a pestering tool like no other. I was going to main Geese Howard on his release but Akuma has def earned a spot on my play rotation.

His super move, you can combo into it from a d1 if your fast enough i did it multiple times. Also 1+2(max charge) ff b1 into his super move works as well for some serious damage.

Be aware: his 1,1 startup is NOT natural combo, only natural on counter hit. so instead of doing 1,1 dp cancel, just do 1,dp cancel to punish.

nice Akuma guide even though you haven't much practice. The bound kick in demon flip has really strict timing like at 4:45. It has to basically hit as early as it can.

Yo King Jae im a new fan and recently bought the game and want to get back into it. I've played all tekkens expect T4. I played only Yoshimitsu and as second main Alisa (90% WR on +100 Games) and my highest rank was Juggernaut. I also won against the 4th place of the EU Ladder (I've played the game when it was dead and played against way higher ranks). But I never learned the advanced tricks like dash canceling etc. I recently want to get into Kazumi. I would love to see if you make a guide on her. Would also enjoy to see Yoshimitsu/Master Raven/Alisa/Jin/Xiayou. Keep up the work defenitly will check all out.

Set one of your buttons to act as a 1+2 press in the controller setup options. Definitely will ensure you get 1+2 moves when you need them. Unless you prefer pressing them both simultaneously.

Hey sorry to ask so many questions but I just got my copy, and I was wondering what his "hop kick" or launcher. Is it really rising 2? Also you should demonstrate what's safe and unsafe for each character and some sample combos, maybe even show us how to properly use training mode so we can teach ourselves what's safe and unsafe. Akuma doesnt have a hop kick. These guides I dont speak about frames as thats the next series. Basic To Pro is to help people get on their feet on the game first. :)

Hey one more question and I'm sorry if you've covered this I've been in school but I was up late last night trying to test out what I can throw out in neutral with akuma in tekken and I don't know how to test it. I found the record function set it to a 1,2 punish as the fastest it he wouldn't block he would get hit and then just attack back, Is there something like guard recovery or do I have to like record him blocking? Don't know how this works

Also the 10 frame punish combo you speak of near the end isnt a combo as it can the second jab can be blocked. 1,1 isn't a natural combo

Sometimes double tapping up or down to side step doesn’t register. All that does to them is crouch. And when I have the imputs on, it does show I am doing it correctly.

The thing I struggle with so much is the diagonal parts of a move especially if they are mid combo I just can't seem to find a guide that simply explains how to do it. I use the d pad and I try to execute it but I always get a forward instead of a diagonal move you just have to press down and forward at the same time to get the diagonal to work right?

5:20 that's something knows as a special mid, which means it can be crouch blocked you can tell by it being green in practice mode

Under "other settings" you can set recovery frames on so you can find out what's safe and not. Also, you should probably explain some of the properties of his specials like his DP being an actual damn DP and has invincibility frames in the beginning and not armor. Also probably should have told people about the Raging Demon and how amazing it is in this game in comparison to other SF games

Shinado the easiest way is to react with a back jump. raging demon has to be set up to connect consistently. scrub online akumas will just press r1 and hope it hits. predict, react, then punish

Akuma is my main in SF3, nothing quite like finishing with Raging Demon. I went straight for him thinking, "I know how to play this". Wrong! Ling Xiaoyu was my main in Tekken but I think the reason I was winning was I was able to confuse my mates who weren't big fighting fans anyway, took her online in T7 and got destroyed. Seeing on your other vid that she's considered an advanced tier character is making me consider switching to someone else initially.

Hey KingJae, you made a significant error when you talked about Akuma's punishment: his 1,1 is not a natural combo on normal hit! So his 10f punish is actually "1 xx light dp fadc ...". Since both 1,1 and d+1,2 combo on counter hit and are cancellable into tatsu, these strings are used to fish for CH and to confirm into qcb+3. The basic strategy for these is you input 1,1~d,d/b,B and watch your opponent's character: if they flinched i.e. you caught them in a move startup, hit that tatsu to get an easy combo! Otherwise a nice tutorial, cheers!

Akuma is OP in Tekken men but he’s a 50/50 character due most of his damage done by jumping and in Tekken jumping can lead to combos and his mix ups is unsafe,Akuma is dangerous with players who played Street Figher as Poongko uses Akuma to its full potential
