I've been on an Ektar 100 kick the last few months. I wish I could explain why the way pros like yourself can, but the colors I get on a sunny day are something else! Love all these films, thanks for another great vid man!

Film photography just has a unique vibe that digital can’t replicate. I love the way it adds depth and soul to every shot!

Fuji 400 xtra is/was my favourite film stock. Wildly available for the first year I was shooting and dirt cheap. It’s harder to find now but I love the colors it produces. I’ll miss it now that they have stopped shipping it here in my area.

I'm on my last 3 rolls of it. The latitude was inferior to Portra but as long as you avoided underexposing at all costs, it was an unbeatable value. I usually shot at 200 ISO and metered at the shadows. Did the trick. It's apparently available in limited quantity in Japan again but no word on if it's just freezer stock or when/if it's coming back stateside.
@sneakingelephant4 ай бұрын
@@honkhonkler7732 yea I overexposed my first roll by shooting it at 200 and I had some ridiculous shots that came from it and it got me hooked. Gold used to always be sold out so I’d just buy the 3 packs of superia back then repeatedly and stock them in my freezer. It saddens me that I can’t get it anymore but I’ll at least have the chance to shoot it every now and then with what I have left

This gets me fired up to shoot night photography with some Cinestill 800T - definitely going to do that for my channel before winter hits...

Great video! I've recently been using Cinestill BWXX as my go-to black and white film. I think it's pretty versatile

I think an underrated film stock is Rollei Paul & Reihnhold Comes in a pack of 2 and costs around 15$. And you can shoot it from 320 up to 1600 ISO

FP4 and HP5 for Black and White for me. I roll my own so it's also very economical. While I love Tri-X it's just gotten too expensive in recent years. For colour I'll mainly use Gold 200, Ektar 100 and Ektachrome 100 although to be honest for colour I mostly shoot digital as lab processing and scanning here in Australia is ridiculously expensive.

I've got most of these in my film 'fridge! Just got some Lomography Color '92 in the mail and can't wait to get a look at it. I also have some Vision3 250D and 50D adapted for 35mm from Midwest Film Co. and they can even develop it in-house so you can shoot stills of motion picture film. Cannot wait to see what that film stock looks like. Great vid, Jvpes!

Glad to see The Darkroom is taking new customers; they weren’t for a bit. I’ve been sending my film to a lab in NJ popularized by another KZbinr but they only offer TIFFs. Who am I, Ansel Adams. Ilford Delta 100 for the win.

Such a bummer why I don’t love Kodak Gold 200 when I was starting photography but now I notice myself grabbing it most of the time. Maybe because Portra 400 was way cheaper before. I also go for lomo 400 it’s also good. Delta 400 and HP5 on b&w films

I just developed a 21 year old roll of Gold 200. Despite its age and having lived post exposure in a sock drawer for all that time, it looked just as it would have if I got it developed in 2002. I feel Kodak Gold 200 is in my future too. Plus I just picked up a roll of CS800T and I’m looking forward to trying it out when next I do some night shots.

@KingJvpes Жыл бұрын
What do you like about 400D? I haven’t shot much of it yet!
@gret_cline Жыл бұрын
@@KingJvpes 400d Feels like it gets those gold and warm tones in the daytime super well. Hard to explain but 800T just doesn't hit as well as 400 during golden hour. I also feel that 400d has more potential with halation on things that aren't highlights. I shoot cars, and I've managed to get just a plain old steering wheel to give off this beautiful red glow. I definitely recommend it for daytime shooting instead of doing +1 stop 800T.

New comedy just dropped! My boy forgot shooting slide film...But I understand, it's hard to use for some people. No "vibes" and "over expose" a stop, and it really tells you how bad of a photographer you are, if you don't shoot it right. Color negative is really crutching a lot of these influencers.
