So glad you are enjoying this series, for many of us, the best super hero live action series. The way they develop every character, they even in future chapters make you feel empathy to the brutal Fisk through his past and make every character important. And through every episode, (specially last season, no spoilers) Fisk make Matt's life more difficult, in order to getting rid of him just for business but clearly becomes something personal to Fisk (making him suffer just to prove his position on piramid) so painful how the more Matt wants to do what he thinks is right, the more difficult are everything for him (even making him cuestion his morals and the worth of what he's fighting for). More delicious tension and dilemmas every chapter every season.

One of the BEST things about this series is the non stop parallels between Matt and Fisk. Glad you picked up on that. Kingpin is easily the most terrifying MCU villain. It’s not that he’s a mountain of a man who could easily break bones without issue. It’s the manipulation of any situation that he finds himself in to his advantage. He controls people through their desires and forces people’s actions against their own interests for his own gain. They need to let this version of the character shine brighter in the criminal underworld of the MCU. 😈

I'm so glad that you're watching Daredevil. When this show came out several years ago on Netflix, it seemed revolutionary for the superhero genre. It ran for three seasons, and a fourth will be released sometime in the coming year. Kingpin was a minor villain in the comics, and it wasn't until the artist of the Daredevil comic, Frank Miller, began both writing and drawing the book that the Kingpin became a better character. The entire tone of the show is directly based on Miller's work. Looking forward to your next reaction.

@andmicbro1 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, Kingpin is a fantastic villain! He's very nuanced, and at times you really sympathize with him. He's obviously not a good guy, and as time goes on, and the seasons progress, you realize the levels of manipulation he really goes to. Kingpin is a lot like the Lex Author of the marvel universe, he's deep into crime and manipulation, and a tactical genius. Luthor is a bit more like an evil Tony Stark, while Kingpin is much more physically imposing, and much more like a crime boss.

Kingpin has 2 "powers," though they aren't powers in the comic book sense. He is highly intelligent and a superb planner, and he's very, very strong for "just" a human. The Marvel Database lists his max lift at 650lbs, but I think that scale needs to be reconsidered. Given that the actual, real world deadlift record is 1104lbs, held by Halfthor Bjornson (The Mountain from GoT), keeping the Peak Human limit at 800lbs for the database might need to be adjusted. For the purposes of the show, I guess the important thing to know is that Kingpin is a lot stronger than Matt.

In Hawkeye, they gave Fisk superhuman strength, being more comic accurate (despite Kate somehow managing to, ya know, not EXPLODE from his punches) In Daredevil, his strength levels are more grounded, less exaggerated. He's just a really buff dude
@reynaldolorenzo8409 Жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t say superhuman, it was peak human strength and durability like the comics. Spoilers for the seasons one finale! In this they also have peak human abilities but it was poorly showed and inconsistent because Matt in this season finale jumped over Fisk and flipped him, he FLIPPED Fisk, a 450lbs of pure muscle and he did it like nothing but then his punches doesn’t do much to the normal criminals. They were inconsistent, I don’t remember if it was in S1 or S2 but I think it was in this one and they introduced the meditation that he also uses in the comics to heal quickly and only used it once, how many times he could’ve used with all the times he was almost dead? This show is a masterpiece but if I had to criticize something it would be that season two had too many storylines, it was used for a lot of set up and The Hand storylines are not that good written but the season I still great thanks to DD, Frank and the supporting characters, and that even tho this is more grounded they were inconsistent with the characters feats, sometimes they were peak human and other times they weren’t.

@@diegopansini3152 No it wasn’t, peak humans do shit like that. That’s the whole point of them training their body to peak human so they do unrealistic shit but not on superhuman level. Look at the shit Bruce Wayne can do or when Natasha Romanoff that has a weak version of the serum said that Frank hits harder than her and is stronger, peak humans in comic book does ridiculous feats but super humans are those that can lift tons like Spider-Man, he is a street level superhuman and Daredevil is a peak human street level.
@The_Butt_Cracker Жыл бұрын
They didn't give Fisk any more strength in Hawkeye than he had in Daredevil. In Daredevil, Fisk is shown breaking out of handcuffs like they're nothing, tanking multiple stab wounds to the gut unarmored, and punching holes in concrete. He's always been shown as having peak human strength.
@diegopansini3152 Жыл бұрын

There’s always been some debate on the Kingpin’s abilities and powers. It depends on the story line and comics line. I know from the early comics he was just abnormally strong because of his size but I think they changed it when they rebooted all the comics in the 2000’s.

The end of two gets a little odd, but one and three are great and first half of two is awesome because they introduce punisher
@angelohernandez6060 Жыл бұрын
It was implied in his early years that Fisk might be a mutant and that is what made him stronger and tougher than your usual mob boss. I think though in the MCU they explain his toughness to armored suits and him being really fit.
@andmicbro1 Жыл бұрын
Well, in other appearance he's very much the same. In comics and in animated shows. Daredevil really kept more grounded and real, but I actually liked that better anyway, he was dangerous, yes, physically imposing, yes, but it's his control of the city and the crime angle that really makes him terrifying. Like he's a powerful man, and not just because of his physicality. Also I think it works better for live action. Hawkeye was almost comically done where him picking up cars and stuff just looks silly. He was so much more well done in Daredevil too that Hawkeye was like a sad attempt to do what daredevil did, but half as well.
@reynaldolorenzo8409 Жыл бұрын
When tf that was implied? I’ve never read that. A lot of normal human characters in comic book they train their bodies to peak human abilities, Bruce Wayne and all the bat family, Conan, Frank Castle, Matt Murdock, Wilson Fisk, Sam Wilson, all the Arrow’s, etc, that’s how they do stuff that normal human can’t do. Fisk is 450lbs of pure muscle, he is a beast, he is not a mutant.

41:19 Agree, and i think that's because he isn't a just a villain, we are seeing another side of Wilson Fisk, not for personal gain, but because he likes Vanessa, which is very endering seeing someone portrait as a monster, someone you shouldn't speack about and someone you should be very careful to seeing him act human. And i think is the why his appearence in Hawkeye wasn't as good. Here we can see more of him, what he likes and dislikes, we can see he has a genuine interest in this woman and attemps a human connection wit her. But also we see his worst aspect, his psycopathic behaviour and anger, lack of remorse for killing someone. Just in general, so good. Just hope the MCU can give him that same or similar nuance as the Netflix show did.

I really never cared for Karen's character; not because she's a "bad" person or anything but because she's something of a 'Pippin'. If you've seen the LOTR trilogy you might recall how Pippin was always making one boneheaded move or another which invariably made an already bad situation so much worse. That's how I view Karen. I don't think this qualifies as a spoiler because by the end of episode 4 you've already seen her making three very bad decisions (every time for understandable and relatable reasons but even so highly questionable) 1) Lied to Matt about having kept the file, then went to retrieve it herself almost getting herself killed in the process, 2) When presented with the NDA opted not to discuss this with Matt and Foggy but went to a reporter instead (You might think she didn't want to endanger her friends but I suspect the real reason was she was convinced they'd advise her to sign and drop the matter. She was hoping for a more satisfying response from Ben. Like a child that goes to whichever parent they perceive to be the "softy".) 3) When Ben told her to drop the matter she decided to pursue it herself and attended the auction alone. A very bad move for someone that obviously doesn't have the necessary experience or instincts to play with the big boys. All in all she's a smart girl that does some really dumb crap. Not the kind of person I'd want on my team.
