I don't do derby but I've gone from an artistic skate to bont parkstars that I know have 20 degree kingpin, I feel more stable on the 20 degree but doing anything on the rink takes more effort than it did on my artistic skates. Can you explain why thats the case? I know this is a derby channel but I can't find anyone talking about the differences for general skating 😅

I think that may have more to do with your heels! The artistic skate probably had a heel right? Without heels, the Parkstars put you in a more bent/aggressive stance that is better for your ankles on impact but for rinks, the heels give you a better balance and posture for dancing. It's all preference though!

@@alice_mation yes :) They make your balance feel more natural with the wheels. The plates are also likely 10 degrees on the artistic skate which is just more stable. The larger the angle the more agile they will feel.
