Imagine a system of law so ancient, so just, and so polycentric that the kings and queens of the land had to obey it! This system existed for 1000s of years in Ancient Ireland. Find out how it worked...

What intrigues me is how ancient Ireland had a single language & legal system long before many other neighbouring countries like England & France, yet the island was composed of many tuatha who jealously guarded their independence. How did such diversity & independence of action lead to a degree of commonality & consensus ? Something in the modern world we have never accomplished.

We don't really know what they had. Ireland was one of the few European countries not invaded by the Romans.

I believe that what the Irish had was superior to today's law! Attorneys had to have integrity or pay the price! Not like today.

We should all return to the ways of Humanity before the Roman's! Humanity was more in support of Humanity back then. People were people, not units. A man had representation. Today we have fake representation. Return, Return , Return to the old ways!

Love this channel but I'm very disappointed in the not so subtle implication that Christianity is "purer" and somehow more legitimate than the ancient traditional pagan spiritual beliefs and practices of the native population.

The idea that the pagans were forced to convert is misleading, remember, sacrificing your first born child is something parents might not find hard to reject.
@Padraigp
@Padraigp Жыл бұрын
Might not find hard to reject. So might find it easy to embrace. The irish were still giving their first born or second born to the church up till the 1960s .... so they indeed embraced it. Not sure what you meant to say cos double negatives are never not minded much here.

@Padraigp Ti's easy to be a smart arse Padraig, but to murder your first born isn't quite the same as pushing your child to become a priest or a nun. I don't agree with either. Feel free to correct my grammar.

@@tomasomaonaigh7659 not being a smart arse sacrifice doesn't always mean killing. It means to give up.

@Padraigp The first born was killed in many pagen cultures, including our own, sorry if that doesn't fit in with the idea of pagens just worshiping trees and shit.
