I was prepared for the buckeyes to look sluggish after a huge top 5 win in happy valley. I was even prepared to see the OL take a bit of a step back and while there are definitely things that need cleaned up this OL has the potential to be VERY good going into the final last few games leading up to the Big Ten Championship game

OSU also played a 3 down front with the jack on another drive for a few plays as well. But once Purdue got to midfield, they switched back the normal front.

Doug.... there is a way to get rid of the Canadian Geese. Put 2 white Decoy Swans next to the pond. Swans are mortal enemies of the geese. Geese will not land near the pond if they see the swans. Our condo community has 3 ponds and 3 sets of decoy swans. We have had no geese here for a few years now.

That’s crazy…guess those Swans hold a grudge from being called ugly ducklings.

Himnot being able to rip it could be he spent 4 years at k state and they dont have the WRs to make the catches nor the o line to block. Plus how good was the qb coach there? It's not like he is in his 5th year under Day and doing that. Long balls are Browns strength. He learned at at OSU Browns biggest ossue is reading progressions and decision making😊

Bucks played a great game and finally a complete game, However something I noticed is that against these lower class teams they start slow and it’s quite annoying, However in big games they do good when starting fast and in a groove, Indiana will give them a challenge but they got it!!
@originalgamesta62683 күн бұрын
I don’t think it’s all on the players, I think the coaches also try to use these games to try new things, and shuffle things around. With the new CFB schedule, they have breathing room to play around and try to improve the overall team.

That’s preparation, and coaching (i.e. 100% Ryan Day), and you’re right it’s beyond old at this point. It causes fans to lose confidence in the players who are the most guilty of it. Howard has me eating a bottle of Tums every game at this point. Every time that dude does anything OTHER than hand the ball off, I feel like it could be a complete disaster, just as much as it could be a great play. He can’t hit a WR in stride (especially on deep balls) if his life depended on it.
@deeplorable89882 күн бұрын
Stats are deceiving. Of the 50% completions beyond 30 yds, Jeremiah Smith came back and made great catches on many under thrown balls. Will has a problem with the deep ball, he needs to be better.
@deeplorable89882 күн бұрын
Also, all those other quarterbacks aren't playing at Ohio State where there is 5 star talent everywhere. Will Howard needs to be better.

Please read!!!! 😊 Will Howard's long ball I believe is still timing. His mechanics for calculating a person's speed still seems off.......treyveon Henderson run and on time placement shows that if he is aware of a person's speed personally. Then it's on point. I think he still doesn't calculate Carnell tate and Jerimiah smith's speed and where the ball should be thrown prior to then even getting there.
@seeknayog72622 күн бұрын
Also, on Will Howard's deep ball, there have been at least 2x where Jeremiah said it was his fault for giving up on the play or running the route wrong.

How can a guy be a 5 star at his position and 3 years later not know how to play the position. Really hope CJ finds a way.

I agree with one of the other viewers. I miss the uber-consistent, physical, “3yrs, and a cloud of dust” football, where you may not have won by 21pts, but ALWAYS felt good that you’d win. The Ryan Day era of football is so nauseatingly inconsistent, that it no longer matters who we play, it’s like a win is ANY-thing but guaranteed, and OSU always feel like a catastrophe of some sort is coming. I’ll trade consistent with these bi-polar blowouts ANY day of the week. It always seems like when we win (especially against a decent team) we’re pulling games out of our @sses at the last second, with big plays (Penn State being an exception). *It’s very hard to go into any kind of post-season, or TCUN game with Ryan Day as HC, with ANY confidence, whatsoever.*

It seems like Purdue basically ran the opposite direction of the side the Jack was blitzing from. Surely there’s suppose to be other stuff happening

Ross Bjork was asked about the turf on 97.1 and he gave a load of BS about how the turf we have is great, it’s not a safety problem, and they won’t be replacing it. So good luck getting anywhere with him. Meanwhile, every stadium in the NFL that had that type of turf has already replaced it due to safety concerns.

Guys I wouldn't get tooooo excited about our defense. Our D is always great against teams we are better than. Nebraska - Penn St offense not even close in comparison. We won't know until we play a top 20 offense. Oregon is ranked 11 in yards. Indiana will be a test. Ranked 16th

Will Howard can’t throw deep balls and it worries me immensely. I love the kid, love his leadership, moxie, ability to scramble under pressure, all of his experience. But I flat out do not believe he can throw a deep ball anymore, and down the stretch/into playoffs that concerns me.

Will is putting too much air under the ball on the deep throws. He needs to just put it more on a line and let his guy go get it

Will's deep ball will NOT hold us back or lose us a game but he will short throw at least 1 per game. 50% of them will be caught. And we can still win against any team in the country with that if we continue to play elite defense. It is what it is. Let's accept reality and move on.

OLine took a step back in run blocking yesterday. We had 64 yards for a good 3 quarters.

The numbers aren’t telling the whole story. Rewatch it though. They had some fantastic gaps yesterday. Q wasn’t seeing the gaps very well yesterday. He had a couple plays in particular that he had a shot to really break them loose but he was running on the back of his lineman which is a great thing most times but you can’t miss those holes like that. Q got 11 carries for 32 yards to treys 6 for 85. Trey had a better running day because he saw the field better. As seen by the massive difference in Rushing numbers between then. Q will be fine just had an off game.

TreVeyon averaged 14.2 yards per carry.

@ that yardage was on a sweep. There was nothing up the middle and that falls on the OLine. !!
@robschoenung95433 күн бұрын
@markbrooks9370 He had carries of 12, 6, 16, 3, 29 and 19. They weren't all sweeps. I'd say Q just had an off day.

So, Seth Mclaughlin had a good point. Purdue was in a bear front for the first couple of quarters, which is specifically designed to shut down the inside zone runs we like to run. This is why everything started to shift outside in the second half of the game, which is when the run game broke open. Credit to the staff for adjusting, as outside runs are the primary way to defeat a bear look.
