We are moving to Florida by the end of June. Fortunately, we have the luxury of staying with family in Lutz as we search the 55 plus communities. Definitely know we do not want a new build because there is no mature landscaping. Loved the interview with Scott.

Great video as always! I hear what you are saying about the new build who is having bids on the lots. I'm on that list and I was pretty annoyed when I got that email about "best and highest". Thankfully, my hubby can't retire till end of 2022 so we have time. Your Patti keeps me informed! She's been great and I can't wait to meet her!

Enjoyed your man-on-the-street interview. Wonder how he found his rental. I'm like him and not ready to buy until I rent in the community first. Maybe think about doing video discussion for first-time visitors or suggestions about places to rent to give a 55+ person the best perspective about community and activities.

That’s a great idea, thanks! When communities are developed usually it is just an independent owner renting their place. Maybe we could put something together like a list on the website!

I know for The Villages, there is a website and a Facebook group just for rentals, both short term and long term. Some people in The Villages also list on Airbnb and VRBO, but I think those are usually short term rentals, say 3 months or shorter.

Another great video. Always helps to have local candid comments from locals. Housing market's also very hot in Chicago subs. Have a friend and relative that recently sold above asking price within days. Have a few relatives in real estate and they say it's very common to sell above asking price. We've also plan to rent before moving.

How much is it to rent in the Villages. I'm sure the rates vary depending subdivision. Are owners required to have a one year lease for tenants. I would hate to buy a place and have a neighbor who rents the place as an Airbnb. Are their good tradesman in the area to remodel a old resale that needs a refreshing.
