Bro really and truly Shias started off as a political movement it wasn’t even religious. However Islam is free from politics, but engulfs politics. All the Sahabah were men who fought next to the prophet, sat with the prophet, and literally prayed with the prophet. So anyone who thinks he has a say in their affairs or their personal issues is coming from a place of ignorance call it Shia call it twelvers . These men were promised Jannah and the only way you will enter Jannah is following Mohammed and Allah.

Actually the word shii started to grow after death of Hussain(a.s) n then mokhtar ibn abi ubaid Al saqafi, tried to avenge him,it was actually when some people got United as Shia,bcoz they saw the religion is not in safe hands,it wasn't about politics,it was about the religion itself,if they wouldn't have stopped yazid ibn moaviah,if imam Hussain wouldn't have been killed in the karbala,probably the Islam we have today wouldn't be same

Many historians believe Hashashins is not derived from Hashish (Weed) at all, because it also literally means "The reapers" in Arabic. Hashish means "Grass", and thus the sickle tool is still called "Mehshash" in some Arab countries today. Reaping grass is the verb "Hash". "Reapers of heads" is a known statement from these times.

Its name is "Üsküdar'a Giderken" meaning "While going to Uskudar" (Uskudar is a place in the Asia side of Istanbul) Also Ali's followers weren't only Shias, there are Alevis(mostly popular in Syria, Iraq and Turkey) who call themselves neither Sunni nor Shia. Sunni is basically the one who follows Kuran and prophets Shia also adds Ali as a redeemer, while doing that they continue to follow Muhammad and Kuran

Thanks for the great video. Just a few things that I thought are necessary to mention. 1st: There is a mistake in the Shia succession line shown in the video. First Hassan came and then Hoseyn. 2nd: The name of Hassan Sabah's teacher was Naser Khosro Ghobadiyani the famous Persian poem. 3rd: The name assassin comes from the word "hashashin" meaning pharmacologist. The main trait of the people in Alamut in those days was medicine. There was a huge hospital in Alamut in those days which treated patients from all over the region and prescribed different drugs to them. Later on, the assassins always put a tablet of a deadly drug in their mouth during a mission so that they wouldn't be caught alive. 4th: The Esmaili's like the other different sects in Islam believe in "Mahdi", a person that will come at the end of time and bring peace and justice to the world. After a time Hassan Sabah declared himself as the promised "Mahdi" and thought his follower's new teachings. Such teachings were that as it is the end of time it isn't necessary to pray or fast anymore. This made the other sects of Islam deeply hate the Ismaili's. 5th: It can be argued that the Ismaili's in Iran like the Shia's were a Pan Iranian movement. They focused on the pre-Iranian culture before the invasion of Islam and showed huge enmity towards the Arab culture. It grew prominence after the overthrow of the Shea dynasties by Turkic tribes which were Sonis.
@ابنالعراق-ك4ه4ه2 жыл бұрын
If you mean the Shiites are the enemies of the Arab culture, then your words are the opposite of reality, because Shiites originated in the Arab countries, and the twelve Shiite imams are all Arabs ، As for the Sunni imams, most of them are Persians, and Iran did not become Shiite until the past 500 years
@sinafatemi40052 жыл бұрын
@@ابنالعراق-ك4ه4ه 1st: I did not say enemies. 2nd: I believe you are hugely oversimplifying what I said and the history behind it. The reason that the Iranian's were very much pro shia was the conflict that the Shia imam's continuously had with the Umayid and Abasid Khalifas. This made them popular in Iran which also abhorred the Arab rule in the country. Also pay attention that the vast majority of Iranian's even 50 years after Islam were Zorastrian and it was only through excess taxation and mistreatment that the population slowly began converting to Islam. It has been argued almost 200 years after the Iranians wanted to break free of the Abbasid dynasty in Baghdad they promoted they promoted the Shia branch of Islam to break ties religiously from the Capital of Islam while also keeping people contempt. This can be seen in the Buyid Dynasty which was an Iranian Shia dynasty that conquered Baghdad. It was only after the Turkic nomad invasion that a many people again converted to Soni Islam because of the brutal treatment of their Turkic overlords which were mainly Sonis. This remained all the way until The Safavid Dynasty that again brought back the notion of Iran and Iranic culture through Shi'ism. And they of course did this through violence
@sinafatemi40052 жыл бұрын
Also, it should be mentioned that many of the customs in Shia come from a set of Iranian cultures and beliefs. The belief that Mohammad's successors should be all from the same family tree comes from the ancient Iranian belief that they thought the Kings to be of pure blood and only certain people can be Kings. This was mainly the reason that Bahram Chubin an Iranian general rising against the Iranian King could not get any support and failed. This was not the case in the Arab world in those days that mostly lived in tribes and had a more democratic society. Also, the notion that the prophet and his successors don't commit any sins is also based on an Iranian point of view which they had in the ancient days. We can even see that a huge bulk of Mokhatar's forces who rose to avenge Husain's death in Karbala and fight the Umayid dynasty were Iranians. This said that the Shia movement started in Saudi Arabia but it was mostly the Iranians that later on used it as a tool.

As a modern day Ismaili, I see the Hashasshin period, called as Daur al Satr or Time of Hiding, as something out of necessity. Ismailis around the Islamic world were persecuted and we had to resort to secrecy and survival tatics. Quite interesting watching this being a Nizari Ismaili myself. Hassan-i-Sabah is a key figure in the Ismaili history. The stronghold of Al-Maut and the strategy of assassinations did contribute towards the survival of Ismaili traditions despite being sorrounded by fierce enemies like the Saljuqs. It is said that the word assassin comes from the Arabic word haschishin for hashish user. But Hassan and his followers didn't speak Arabic; they were Persians. Assassin comes from the Persian word Hassassin -- a follower of Hassan. Hassan, in fact, was a hashish prohibitionist. He argued that the Koran's ban on alcohol was a ban on all intoxicants, so his assassins were drug free killers.

@@jonijoestar6871 Because they’re of the Nizari Ismaeli sect of Shia Islam obviously. They can’t set up HQ in Sunni majority countries like Yemen or Pakistan, that’d be a death sentence. Iran on the other hand follows the Twelver sect of Shia Islam which is generally bad news for Nizari Ismaeli’s. Portugal and much of the Iberian peninsula was once islamized, then the reconquista Christianized them until secularism was achieved. As such, Nizari Ismaeli’s are safe there.

but dont forget the fact that Suuni Gov of that time killed Shia minorities. as they its been said in old persian books , they draw a red X on shia people houses's doors then at night they burnt the house and all people inside of it. Such tradition was common in Anatolia as well since Seljuks migrated there and last time it happened in Turkey i guess it was 1980s

@@sinaaafshar4154 .....let's just not throw shade on each other anymore(as history is and will always be cruel and not 100% true), Islam should not have been divided into sects, lets try to fix that now in an age where we can all know and understand about each other.
