I ran into this on KZbin and am delighted to see that Martha still teaches! Its now 25 years ago (!) that I took all my IFR, multiengine, CPL theory listening to the KING VHS (!) tapes in Germany. Thanks Martha, you are great!

It's not that, her skill and experience as an aviator is obvious, but it is alongside this the smooth delivery of very technical details in an understandable way. Although I know both John and Martha are very well practiced in delivery of presentations on flight training and being able to present is a complex skill in itself, she really wipes the floor with any other flight training channel I have seen on KZbin. Nothing you have not heard before - but I'm still stunned. If I were a student I'd be too impressed by the training to be trained. Keep up the fantastic work all at Kings.

Absolutely wonderful instruction from an exceptional instructor. Also, the Kings never insist we listen to music playing at the same time they are talking. I don't understand why so damn many KZbinrs think it is somehow useful, beneficial, or, I guess, pleasant. It is none of those.

I agree
@agustinmartinez28124 жыл бұрын
@@pziemann You are correct the avionics was imputed incorrectly, holding EAST (Watch the manual input carefully) when the clearance was Hold WEST which making for a DIRECT ENTRY. This should of been caught before releasing to the public.

The Holding at BONDO intersection was demonstrated in error. The input from the flying pilot was made holding EAST, when the clearance was to hold WEST making for a direct entry. I was confused so I carefully watched the input to the avionics and just as I thought it was entered holding EAST. This should of been reviewed carefully before rolling out to the public. Nevertheless, I have enjoyed the KING videos forever, just need careful review before release.

@@KingSchools true I like your videos by the way. anyhow Sikorsky airport tower years ago put me on a runway 29 approach witch had a heavy cross wind from the left. I, im in a Cessna 152 and student pilot at the time was coming from Danbury CT with no wind issues.until Sikorsky oddly enough I had it made on short final until the cross winds hit me on the left side at about 500 ft AGL from there on down it was left wing buried down and I mean buried down and with hard right rudder applied to stay on the center line. the left main gear hit first then the right then nose gear. maybe my flight instructor called the tower and said put him on a crosswind runway approach and lets see how he does a cross wind landing. ---------------------------------------------------- ever fly backwards in an airplane ? I did in a sail plane over rt 8 in Waterbury CT we caught wave lift from the Adirondacks on a west heading we backed up over RT 8 heading east
@DoctorShocktor5 жыл бұрын
I appreciate the quality of the training, but c’mon your presentation of the holding mistake is TOTALLY disingenuous just for the sake of promoting a manual double check of the hold. 1. There’s a clear LABEL UNDERNEATH the small hold inset picture that SAYS EAST HOLD and the inset picture shows an EAST HOLD, which would IMMEDIATELY show him it’s wrong. 2. Once programmed the MAIN MAP shows an EAST HOLD! So unless the pilot is blind or mentally disabled, he ignored two very obvious visual presentations showing the wrong hold! You yourself said he was fixated on the word WEST, which would immediately alert him to the EAST hold presentations. Your example purposely ignores reality for the sake of demonstrating an “error”.
@DoctorShocktor5 жыл бұрын
I just tried this hold myself with a GTN-750, and looking for a WEST hold result, there is no way a pilot would select and activate a clearly marked EAST hold. GPS manufacturers design their interfaces very well, and the 750 is incredible, there’s just no way a sober or sane pilot is going wrong in this way, and as far as a unit error, the statistics don’t show that happening as well. Not saying it’s not good to double check holds with a pencil, but you can do that after you’ve let the unit do it’s job.
