Leela Chess Zero (lc0) is a free, open-source, and neural network-based chess engine and distributed computing project.
Leela Zero's algorithm is based on DeepMind's 2017 paper about AlphaGo Zero.[3][6] Unlike the original Leela, which has a lot of human knowledge and heuristics programmed into it, Leela Zero only knows the basic rules and nothing more.[7]
Leela Zero is trained by a distributed effort, which is coordinated at the Leela Zero website. Members of the community provide computing resources by running the client, which generates self-play games and submits them to the server. The self-play games are used to train newer networks. Generally, over 500 clients have connected to the server to contribute resources.[7] The community has provided high quality code contributions as well.[7]

AlphaZero is a computer program developed by the Alphabet-owned AI research company DeepMind, which uses an approach similar to AlphaGo Zero's to master not just Go, but also chess and shogi. AlphaZero (AZ) is a more generalized variant of the AlphaGo Zero (AGZ) algorithm, and is able to play shogi and chess as well as Go. Differences between AZ and AGZ include:[1]
AZ has hard-coded rules for setting search hyperparameters.
The neural network is now updated continually.
Go (unlike Chess) is symmetric under certain reflections and rotations; AlphaGo Zero was programmed to take advantage of these symmetries. AlphaZero is not.
Chess can end in a draw unlike Go; therefore AlphaZero can take into account the possibility of a drawn game.

That was a great analysis. I am reminded of something I have heard you mention before: Pawns are the soul of chess. @9:20 I feel like this is a snapshot of this entire game. Having traded off light square bishops white has taken space with their pawns and crucially connected them on light squares, forcing blacks pawn structure to control less territory and to hem in their own pieces on the dark squares. Black wisely decided to play where they have space however blacks bishop is in Alcatraz; trapped on an island surrounded by walls. Meanwhile white's bishop is centralized, able to move freely, and exerting pressure on both sides of the board. Also consider for a moment the knight on g6. That knight is the lone defender; the bulwark against whites x-rays. But, it is overloaded by the task. The knight has committed to this course and has no escape. It's one hope is to provide enough time for the king to reach safety, and then it too must flee if any of blacks pieces are to have a chance at being more than lawn decoration.

White established lanes on the g& h files from the start. The entirety of the game saw black manuevering to avoid devastation from stated threats on the g& h file. The X-ray threats too are offspring of the dominated g & h files. At no point did black have time to establish sufficient threats of its own.The cute little queenside sortie by white to liberate the a pawn is highly instructive. All in all white called the shots from the start & black was doomed to a subservient defensive role throughout the game . As a subservient humble patzer I must simplify & generalize the themes within the parameters of my understanding. In the end it's about my understanding not the other guy's.

C. S. Shahbazi I’m thinking it could be for a couple of reasons: It’s educational, letting GMs and other pros know if an Opening - or some sub variant thereof - is actually busted. And, to me, it looks like it might be precisely taking the fun out of chess if engines are left to their own initiative. I mean you can only get up interest for so long in 1. d4 after 1. d4😴.
