I play this song instead of drinking, taking pills, doing harm to myself, going and beating the mess out of those that have caused me pain, and thinking of worse things. Thank You, Mr. Rucker, for this life saving song.

In 2012 I took 33 heart pills and was forced by a doctor that tar stuff witch I threw up for weeks, my high school sweetheart for most of my life left me for someone. I was raising 3 children with him and he had become an addict and a abuser. Child custody court for eight more years, after everything I was the crazy one for no reason and lost my kids. I have made sure all these years to stay consistently in my childrens life. I know I am supporting to be a present parent but when you have to fight and prove your sanity it’s a whole different fight. Don’t give up, don’t stop fighting your kids are worth it and there are many in this world on your side! Im not a perfect or great parent but I love my children and by God they will learn that I’ve always loved them. Just keep fighting!

Look it up, real life he was the drug addict, indifferent to her, but it made more sense as a song for him to sing it from the other side. [Verse 1] She sits alone by a lamp post Trying to find a thought that's escaped her mind She says Dad's the one I love the most Michael Stipe's not far behind [Verse 2] She never lets me in Only tells me where's she's been When she's had too much to drink I say that I don't care I just run my hands through her dark hair And I pray to God, help me fly away He said [Chorus] Let her cry, if the tears fall down like rain Let her sing, it eases all her pain Let her go, walk right out on me now And if the sun comes up tomorrow Let her be, let her be [Verse 3] This morning I woke up alone Found a note standin' by the phone That said maybe, D just maybe, I'll be back some day Like a fool, I wanted to look for you You walked in, I didn't know just what I should do So I sat back down with a case of Bud and a bottle of Jim Beam and I felt sorry for me And said [Chorus] Let her cry, if the tears fall down like rain Let her sing, if it eases all her pain Let her go, walk right out on me now And if the sun comes up tomorrow Let her be, let her be now, let her be [Solo] [Verse 4] Last night I tried to leave She cried so much I can not believe She was the same girl I fell in love with long ago Hmmmm She went in the back to get high I sat down on my couch and started to cry for my Momma I said, Mamma please won’t you come and take me outta here She said, boy [Chorus] Let her cry, her tears fall down like rain Let her sing, she can sing, she can sing, and it eases all her pain You gotta let her go I walked out on her you see And if the sun comes up tomorrow Let her be, yeah [Chorus] Let her cry, yes her tears fall down like rain Let her sing, if it eases all her pain Let her go, no, no I walked out on her, I left her you see And if sun comes up tomorrow Let her be, no, no, no, no, no, oh Let her be

I absolutely adore Darius and I’m from South Carolina and my very good childhood friend who had the band “Tootie and the Jones’s” introduced me several times to him and he is the nicest most amazing artist I’ve ever met in the music industry. Funny thing is years later here I am CEO of my own record label Platinum Door Entertainment, llc and I am executive A&R for Blank Kanvaz Records as well as executive management for Death Row Records. I can honestly tell you that most artists have a God Complex whether they are a current relevant artist in the industry or not but Darius is the exception to that rule. He’s just amazing!

I like to think the entire last verse and chorus is a conversation between his mother and him. Kinda like Last night I tried to leave. She cried so much I could not believe. She was the same girl I fell in love with long ago. She went in the back to get high. I sat down on my couch, and I started to cry for my momma. I said, "Momma please, won't you come and take me out o' here?" She said, "Boy, let her cry. Her tears fall down like rain. Let her sing." She can sing. She can sing. "And it eases all her pain. You gotta let her go." I walked out on her you see. "And if the sun comes up tomorrow let her be."

Hey there! I thought I would share this in case you didn’t know. That lyric change, which I think he throws in during live performances every so often, is actually showing that he was really the girl in the song, and the girl was actually him. he shared that background during an interview.

No love relationship with a stranger ever worked out for me. It all goes the same way. It starts out wonderful the gifts the admiration the compliments all the good stuff. Then you get married fight a little bit then you start having children and you fight a little bit more and then before you know it the love dies at least for me. I wish I could see somebody in this world today ,who has that love forever in their home. It would really regain my faith in marriage in the year 2023. As far as I see keeping that love 😘 that you had in the beginning is the hardest to keep together, so to all those lovers that are going to be getting married make sure he loves you more than you love him, 🥰💗🥰 God bless
