pat just keeps on rocking. that guy is amazing and way under rated. IMHO the doobie brothers are what happens when you put a bunch of talented musicians from different cultural and musical backgrounds together. the talent just oozes off of these people. one of the few whose music has not stood the test of time, it sounds as good or better when these guys play live as they ever have. they've lost nothing over the course of time. never had to run around with the entourages and gossip rags to stay relevant. none of them had to be shot, or come out of an egg onstage or make some stupid speeches about the same things we've heard from everyone else ad nauseam and they look like they're just there to sing, play and give the audience their best performance. i'd for sure pay to go see them still.

Hint to new listeners to The Doobie Brothers - make sure you show respect for the musicians by using good speakers. Then you'll catch all the complexities of these amazing music makers.

Just saw them last week. They were a man down (Tom Johnston out with a back problem). So what did they do? They rocked. And they showed the crowd what it is to be true, versatile musicians. When you take their talent as individual musicians and then combine that talent you get the Doobie Brothers and that means musical perfection. What a concert! Oh, and it was an added bonus to see & hear Michael McDonald perform with them again. I last saw them at the Mississippi River Festival in 1979, so I feel more than blessed to have been able to see them again.
