You re a natural teacher! Your voice is clear, perfect cadence and annunciation. You have obvious passion for your art (which is truly that) but you are almost equally a talented instructor. Fantastic editing also...you and the girls should have your own TV show!

As a beginning woodworker who works out of a tiny shop (garage), I want to thank you for this video and project. It's encouraging as a beginner to see a master build something simple, yet so elegant, and gives me confidence that I can too!

I'm watching, and very much enjoying your videos from South Africa and because of our whether out here, we just love the outdoors … ! This table will fit right in for that purpose and as a retiree beginner woodworker, I'm certainly going to give it a try with a "Circular Saw & a Drill" and plenty screws. Another great family project James and well done. Looks super great !!

That is beautifully James. Thank you. Im retired and just getting into wood working and i love it. Im raising my great-grandson and youve given me a good idea about including him and teaching him woodworking. I love how you include your girls and its great that they enjoy it. Again, tha k you

i totally agree about getting the kids involved. I like to start screws and then have my son (6) and daughter (4) drive them home. You go through a few extra bits but so what. Good bonding is far more important then a few driver bits!! I really like the table. So much classier then a picnic table.

This is truly King's FINE Woodworking. I purchased a mallot for myself this past Christmas. I was really impressed by the beauty and quality. Much better than I expected and I expected a lot. It's so beautiful in fact, that I don't want to use it but hang it in the shop as a trophy piece. These folks are true professionals. This is why I subscribed and return to watch each and every video.

New to woodworking, new to your channel, 1st time commenting. I like the way you speak to your viewers, you don't "over-explain" like some others do. Simple, direct, easy to follow. As soon as the weather get better, I'll be back out in the shop ruining some lumber...

Your commentary is always great! I like your comments on how to get your kids involved in the shop. You explain things so well, with beautiful results. If I needed a picnic table, I'd build it. I may try that Watco finish on some planters just to see how it holds up.

James (and family)-- Another great build and video! It's always a real pleasure to see your crew bring it all together. I've used the same GRK screws for a few home projects (laundry machine riser, basement framing, etc.). From my experience of using them with construction lumber, they seem to hold more strongly when they self-drill, rather than pre-drilling for them. What size hole did you pre-drill for them? What pros/cons do you see with these when pre-drilling vs. self-drilling? Thanks so much for (virtually) inviting us into your shop! David Frederick, MD
