Fun fact: Taron Egerton (eggsy) and Elton John met making this movie and became friends, which led to Taron getting the lead role in "Rocketman" after Elton John vetoed the original lead casting proposed by the studio.

Rocketman was in development for years. Tom Hardy was going to play Elton, but it took so long to get it made Tom become too old to play a young Elton. Plus Elton really wanted someone who could sing which Taron has in aces.

People got so annoyed by the silliness in this movie and I feel like they forgot that the first definitely had its share of ridiculousness too. While definitely not as good as the first, I still think this was an enjoyable fun sequel. Glad to see you 2 liked it and it helps that you didn't have the trailers to immediately spoil that Harry was back like we did when this came out.

The camerawork inside the taxi cab fight was all real. They switched between a green screen soundstage and a real driving car at times, but it really is a very skilled team of camera operators doing all that crazy motion back and forth.

These are great and as you said great comedy and you love the outrageous crazy tech and just accept it and go along for the ride. I love the prequel and you must do that one!! (The King’s Man) and can’t wait for more in that series. As someone with a historical background it’s actually really funny to see how many small bits of accurate history is in that movie while being complete fiction.

It is fiction but everything that happens is based on or inspired by very true events..Some of the things that people thought was too unrealistic was actually how it happened like, th bodged assassination, the secret society based on the black hand, even the soldiers heroic death was based on the death of a victory cross dude

The two Kingsman movies (and Kick Ass) are a master class in creative action choreography, and how the perfect song choice combined with excellent cinematography and editing elevates that action by a few levels. Unfortunately the prequel couldn't quite match that.

I do have a movie suggestion though, granted you probably won’t see this. But John Boyega (who plays Finn, the ex storm trooper on the Star Wars movies) has a film called Attack the Block, another brilliant fun and action packed British film that I think you guys will love! It came out in 2010 I believe but John just announced that after ten years and the huge fan base the movie has, they are FINALLY making a sequel. So my suggestion would be for you guys to watch Attack the Block. People that love Kingsmen usually love ATB too.

They originally asked Elton John to be in the first movie but apparently he wasn’t interested however he did watch the film and then he actually asked to be in the second film and basically said just let me know where and when you need me and I will make sure I am free. This is then where he met Taron Egerton who went on to play him in Rocketman.

I feel like this was a movie that should have come much later in the franchise. The problem with blowing up Kingsman in the second movie, is that it doesn't leave much of anywhere to go from there, aside from the prequel that's coming out. We could've gotten to see much more of Kingsman as an organization, and then, when things were getting a bit more stagnant, THEN blown it up. I would've liked to have seen other characters. They could've shown different agents, like following Roxy/Lancelot, and introduced others, even shown Eggsy training new recruits to the Kingsman organization.

I'm sure you know by now that there's a prequel, The King's Man, showing the origin of their organisation. I've heard it's really good but haven't seen it, so I can't personally vouch for it's quality. We will also get a Kingsman 3, continuing Eggsy's story(it was put on hold due to covid, but is Planned to start shooting later this year, if all goes well) But since you enjoyed this you Need to watch "Kick-Ass", directed by Kingsman director Mathew Vaughn and also starring Mark Strong(Merlin) Don't watch a trailer or anything, just dive in blind, you will not regret it. Kingsman and Kick-Ass are both based on comics, written by the same author Mark Millar. I Wouldn't necessarily recommend Kick-Ass 2, sadly. It's not bad, but, imo Way Darker(and not in the good way)than the first(which is Really Fun) and there's a plot point that kind of ruins a character, which I didn't like. That's just me though, you might love it. And since you seem to enjoy this kind of stylized over the top action, you also might want to give WANTED a watch(also based on yet another comic by Mark Millar) Lastly, a little fun detail - Taron Egerton(Eggsy)plays Elton John in his biography Rocketman😄
