i was born in 92 , i grew up playing, dreamcast , super nintendo , nintendo , gameboy , sega genesis , n64 , ps1 , basically all the consoles in the r36s so for me i love this machine i did set my expectations accordingly, i paid 20 buks for my handheld so i know what i was getting for 20 buks , i play my hard to emulate emulators on my pc and my gaming androind phone so the r36s i only use it for retro gaming and it foes it perfectly i love my r36s because i know what are the limitations of the cpu thats why i do have a great time with it.

I have a great time with my R36S. I was born 10yrs before you so I can play the games I grew up playing on a graphing calculator. There are handhelds I like playing my childhood games on more than the R36S getting them closets to the initial experience. My favorite thing to emulate is GB Advanced even though I didn’t have one I had a Sega GameGear. But if I have a few minutes here and there I’m always playing something on an emulator. I spent a lot of time putting together my orange R36S but the Powkiddy V10 and Anbernic RG35xxSP are a better experience for my GBA games.

The JK02 stretchy Bluetooth controller with the Moto g play 2024 all together you'll spend $75 and you'll be able to play almost every GameCube and PlayStation 2 game and yes even PlayStation 3 if you get a terabyte SD card. Because those games are big. But the phone can handle it with the new PlayStation 3 emulator. Can any of those handhelds out there for even 300 400 do that no no they cannot.

If you set it in Retroarch and then save the config you should be solid. If that doesn’t work their config is overriding yours and you will need to delete that delete that by overriding g their core save

Only problem with all these retro handhelds even the most expensive. They can barely play half your PSP library. Forget GameCube and Playstation 2. See all you people who like to spend $300 on a nice big handheld or even 50 to 60 dollars on one of these dumb little Nintendo looking handhelds you must really be cool with just playing 8-bit and 16-bit games and maybe a couple PSP games. See that doesn't work for me. Is it can't handle GameCube and Playstation 2 I don't want it. And I don't mean just play some of the games. I mean at least 95% of the library. Only thing that can do that right now is a nice Android cell phone with a stretchy controller convert it into a handheld only use it as a handheld it blows all these retro handheld out the water. Until they make a chipset that can actually handle GameCube and PlayStation 2. I don't give a s*** about them. Most of them don't even have two gigs of RAM. The Moto g play 2024 has a series 700 snapdragon processor 6 gigs of RAM 90 Hertz display. A 6.6 inch hole punch hole punch display no bezels. only 64 gigs of storage but you can get 124 g for a little more. And can support a terabyte SD card. But either one comes with stock Android and everything else I mentioned. It will play 97 percent of GameCube and PlayStation 2 games and 99% of PSP and Dreamcast. Only reason it can't play the rest of the games. That's down to the emulators not the power of the device. Get the JK02 controller for $25 for it at Walmart.cam it looks like a PlayStation controller that's Bluetooth and its stretchy you know the black and white scheme. With the Moto g play 2024 edition make sure it's the 2024 not the 2023. And you just got yourself a powerful retro handheld for $75 that looks like a mini PlayStation portal. It looks like what Sony should have made the PlayStation portal b&b an actual successor to the PSP. That's what the Moto PlayStation is. And did I mention you could hook it up to your TV with a HDMI to USB type-c cable. So you can make your own little dock. And invite your friends and connect different Bluetooth controllers. And use the handheld. In control remote as well if you want to while it's streaming to your TV no latenc.

I’m sorry you have no idea what you are talking about. You also don’t understand this hobby and that is ok. I’m glad you took the time to write your opinions but a lot of what you are saying is inaccurate. You should do some research if you feel so strongly because within the budget you are listing here you can find more powerful handhelds than you think you can. For starters for $300 you can get one of the best handhelds on the market running Android with 8gb of ram running a Snapdragon 8 Gen2. For another $50 you can get it with 12GB of ram. You can even emulate windows on a lot of these and wait for it… run gamepass. If you are interesting in what I think you are trying to make a point of there are emulators that will far out pace your expectations. Depending on how deep into this you want to get there are plenty of handhelds that phones haven’t been able to touch yet within their price range. ‘And did I mention you could hook it up to a tv” well not it but most of these handhelds hook to a tv through either HDMi or DisplayPort (through type c like your phone) outputs. I hope you have a great rest of your day. If you really want to learn about this hobby I would recommend taking some of that energy you put into writing all these posts and hit up that google machine to learn about what is easily accessible. You never know you may find yourself going down the handheld gaming rabbit hole. Thank you for checking out my video

None of those handhelds can't even play Xbox. But an Android phone with a stretchy controller and a emulator can. I don't understand why you people want to spend all this money on these dumb little handhelds that can't even compete what's a mid-range Android cell phone made in 2024 you know the tech is cheap now so you can actually get a mid-range cell phone that will compete with last flagship phones from 2 years ago

Gross. I hate gaming on my Android or iPhone and a lot of other people do to. This hobby is about retro gaming. You can play XBox on just about anything other than Linux that’s not real special. With a dedicated handheld you get a device that is constantly getting supported by the community you can tailor to your wants/needs that also doesn’t use your cellphone battery it’s incredible. I would assume by your overwhelming amount of comments about how stupid this hobby is you’ve never actually given it a shot. You aren’t gaining anything by using your phone with a controller… you are still carrying an extra device that is often more clunky to tow around. Also a lot of these run Android but I wouldn’t expect you to know that. When you are digging through your backpack trying to find your controller to plug in I’ll just pull my emulator from my pocket and have a game running inside 20 secs. Great for when you’ve got a couple minutes to kill. It will cut down on your TikTok time but I would encourage you to give it a try.
