Love these hangouts. I just got my order yesterday, picked up a couple Guy Madden discs, and the new ‘Scarlet Street’ 4K, but the one I was most excited for was buying ‘The Lady from Shanghai’ for probably the fifth time. I’m a sucker for commentary tracks, and this disc has three, including one from Imogen Sarah Smith. 😻

@@celestedelacabra I don't have the Indicator, my last blu-ray was the bare-bones Mill Creek edition from 2015, it was the best version to my eye. This new Kino encoding of the same 4K restoration looks indistinguishable, but has those sweet commentary tracks. Love this film!

Ha, my dad's favorite show is Columbo too. I've watched a few with him and it is indeed a great show, so I recommend it. I also recommend the Yiddish Cinema set. I'm about a third of the way through it, and really enjoying it. So incredibly valuable to have these films restored and available in a set like this. Anyway, these sale videos are always really fun to watch. But VS got all my money this month due to their Deaf Crocodile and Altered Innocence sales, so I won't be picking anything up from Kino this time around.

I find these videos to be relaxing. The worst thing about the US version of “Black Sabbath” is what they did to the segment, “The Telephone”. The Italian is a Giallo but they re-edited and re-dubbed the English version into a bland ghost story.

But there are other changes - the story order, the music, etc. US version also has a reference to an implied lesbian relationship removed in "The Telephone". The OOP Arrow UK has both versions. That 4K you saw listed apparently never happened.
