If’s this movie was made in Hollywood by the people who runs Hollywood, you will not have a black movie encouraging black people to go after their dreams at the end of the movie, Hollywood only shows the exhausting struggle, every black movies have the same problem- black boy is a drug dealer or gang member, And the mother in the movie always angry or not rational, and when the black boy at the white girlfriend house, the house is very beautiful, why he’s is not dating a poor white trash, because there are more poor white trash in America then rich white girl, but’s, the stereotype is, all white peoples have money, so…. The movie was a trashy movie, because I know what’s Hollywood are pushing into our brain. We ( black people) need to wake-up..Hollywood is very evil towards making black people image positive in movies or commercials and T.V.

Movies like STRIVE ought to be garnering Oscar Nominations, and should most definitely be winning them, instead of being castigated as B-movie fodder, worthy of Razzies! Kalani's story is a global story of succeeding against all odds because when the going gets tough, the tough gets going! Her story is also testament that the Scriptures never lie, because Apostle Paul tells us: “God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength but with your testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it” (1 Corinthians 10:13). Without perseverance, determination and tenacity, we cannot achieve success or victory. We must not allow our distractions to become our main attractions. Kalani's personal values illustrated that we must set our standards and esteem very high, so others can aspire to them. Very emotional, but highly rewarding ending.

This made my heart sad and happy when she admitted she cannot handle all of this!!!! As a child it is NOT ur duty to raise your siblings or other people's children. We need to break out that toxic bad habit to force our kids to grow up too fast that doesn't help them with maturity it only gives them a tiny bit of life skills and pushes them off having their own identity and their own childhood and feelings.... Have children with a man that actually wants to be a father so these children dont have to suffer. It is selfish to push your adult issues onto your children... For her mother to force her child to be the MOM is ridiculous.

That's so impossible gotta tackle the real problem not the popular one. Shows how our expectations are raised high while mens remain low abd the cycle never ends be because the problem isnt addressed you can't identify who's ready whos gonna be right hell they can't we gotta raise ourselves b4 raising children adversites come up how we handle them matters and how we help ourselves heal our trauma matters get right within before trying to parent and learn how to balance life its nothing normal or ok about how men arent being men thats traumatic and not our fault or the problem

Given the subject matter, Strive strikes a good balance between being serious and upbeat, meaning that it will hit the mark with it's broad target audience, which includes teenagers from working class backgrounds, teachers, and social justice campaigners, such as myself. Anyone wishing to start a conversation on the issues surrounding poor families, and the reduced opportunities available to both parents and children, would find this a useful entry level piece. The acting is very genial, with the direction being light and deft, creating just enough depth to know the characters, and care about them, without this turning into The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete. It ends with, after tragedy, hope.

It's one of the best movies I have seen in a while. For anyone young person living her life, best of luck to you.
