I like that you mentioned it took you a couple of years to be able to perform the movement. I think most people just assume that you simply have some sort of natural ability that the rest of us do not have and you didn't have to work hard to reach your level.

"Little by little, and one day it will come."A prescient statement, as after two years of regular practice I am finally seeing significant gains in core strength. Through Navasana as well as attempting a lift during each vinyasa (even though I cannot yet jump through or back), I can today hold a lifted Dandasana for a few breaths. The core strength gained from these has allowed me to almost lift the legs off the ground as I wiggle through on a jump through, and to extend the legs into a lifted Dandasana to come to a seated position for the next posture. This was something I wasn't even close to doing in the beginning. The good thing is that, through dedicated practice, I can finally see progression, although admittedly I fought through many months of defeating thoughts thinking I was never going anywhere. One day, this came.

Hi Kino! I started applying at home the beginners technique you taught us on Saturday in Berlin for jumping through! It already feels better to keep the hands on the floor until I get my feet aaaaaaaaaaall the way through, like you said, to teach the body how the transition should be done! It was really good that you kept reminding us to do it the whole weekend, now it's part of my practice. :-) Thanks a lot!

Hi Kino, Thanks so much for your help and your videos! I'm loving the practice. I'm new to Ashtanga Yoga and am trying to work on strength and begin the process of learning how to jump through. My feet keep getting stuck though, perhaps my hands aren't wide enough apart? Its just the tips of my toes that get caught on the carpet. I'm sure its just strength I need to develop, but do you have any tips??
@KinoYoga

Hi Kino, thanks for your video ... but it seems I can't find any video/instruction at all for how to work on jump back once you managed to swing back.. So its easy for me to swing back, being where you are at 4:51... but then I can't get it how to "bend elbows and go down"... happy for any tips... Thank you!

when I sit L-site my palm cant touch the ground ,it seems my arm too short and my upper body too long,how can I jump through and back,it's really hand for this body shape
@lenorayogaandmovement6037
@lenorayogaandmovement6037 7 жыл бұрын
Well I use to think the same thing about an L-sit (elevated dandasan). When your core and shoulder depressors get strong enough, you "crunch" your core up and depress your shoulders and can achieve lift off. Trust me, I can't reach my palms flat to the ground either when I'm just sitting straight up in an L sit. But I can do an L-sit. Now jumping back is another thing. I can do it in a shallow pool (although my big feet make it tough). So I know it's a strength thing. Try an L-sit in a shallow pool or in the tub.
