Thank you Kino. This video was incredibly helpful, particularly in reference to the muscle descriptions. It can be hard to find videos that not only show you how to enter the posture, but specifically which muscles are needed to do so. I've been practicing for over 5 years and because of this quick tutorial I know see Bakasana in a whole new light! xo

It is awesome & helpful, but as a feedback: it would be really helpful if you talked a tiny bit slower, especially when it comes to the muscle groups and which muscles should be tightened etc. it is sometimes difficult to follow when it is said that fast. other than that, great and helpful, thank you. I love your videos

Kino, I wonder if I could ever gain even 30% more flexibility: #1, I have a metal plate around one kneecap; #2, I'm almost 51, #3, I've never practiced yoga. I become misty when I reflect on my youth as a cheerleader. I can vividly recall the positions I could once easily transition into, but it seems so impossible to reenact. I know that yoga would be a better exercise for my joints than using weight training method. MY body is beginning to feel the repercussions from the 1997 auto accident, WHERE even getting out of bed seems much more challenging as I age. The past shoulder, hip & pelvis fractures now make themselves known; whereas, I hardly had any noticeable discomforts in my younger years. I just wonder are my days of agility gone .....can I regain my flexibility? Watching your videos make me yearn for greater movement. Thank you for the inspiration!
@KinoYoga
@KinoYoga 9 жыл бұрын
Celeste Moore You can definitely gain more flexibility and work towards healing your body and calming the mind with daily yoga practice. But remember that yoga is an inner journey that places spiritual realization as its top goal. Keep practicing and you will experience a deep and perhaps profound inner peace and experience physical healing along the way.

Hi kino, great video. I don't understand the part about the pec muscle and not to let collarbones collapse forward. It looks like you are using a hollow body position with a slightly rounded upper back so aren't your collarbones "collapsed" (but not shrugged) with the activation of the serratus anterior? I'd really appreciate it if you can explain what you mean. 😃
@KinoYoga
@KinoYoga 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Kitty. If the collar bones collapse, the shoulders will push forward into a v-shape, which puts pressure at the shoulder joints and sternum. This isn’t safe. If you’d like more personal instruction or more in-depth instruction, I invite you to join a workshop or live class where you can ask questions. Details on my website at www.kinoyoga.com

The secret to get to crow is to put your hands as wide as your mat minimum, then you can start to perfect it. try to put your toes together This way your legs would cross your arms . otherwise if your arms and legs are paralel it would be much difficult , they would slip down if you do not have enough strenght
