As fun and adventurous as this expedition through Africa may seem, it takes a lot of balls to cycle through these remote areas by yourself. Everyone who’s traveled alone understands just what I mean. Having said that, the excitement you bring people, particularly in the rural areas, is a joy to watch. I love to see the smiles on the faces of so many schoolchildren, as they run alongside you. And your ability to keep calm, despite being surrounded by hordes of strangers in remote areas, or when being harassed for money, is under appreciated. You make it look so easy on camera. @carelessmushitu-gm3lb4 ай бұрын
Before making comments, you should travel and see for yourself. I have visited rural areas in several larger countries in the sub- Saharan region, and I can attest that rural Rwanda and rural Burundi are vastly different from rural areas in other large countries in sub-Saharan Africa. These two countries are small and densely populated, so even their most remote rural populations live in conditions that might seem prosperous compared to millions of rural people in other parts of sub-Saharan Africa. Remember, Yves has only visited a rural area in Ethiopia and no where else. Be realistic and compare rural Burundi to rural areas in your own country-you might be surprised by the difference. Sub-Saharan Africa still has a long way to go compared to other parts of the world, but while Burundi needs improvement, its rural areas are relatively better off than those in many other countries.
