looks like you've got it really well setup! good to see the long ramp up time isn't strictly necessary. I've ordered the 3kw version so hopefully I won't have any problems there. someone gave me a wiring diagram for the M300 with VFD where foot pedal works as desired, if you have Facebook message me at Callum McGrory and i'll send it to you. all the best, Callum

Perfectly restored ! Where did You order new gear ratio plates etc ? What paint did You use ?And finally, why is Your leadscrew soooo bloody shiny ? I love it !

Mark Masterson Thanks, the gear ratio plates are originals and just cleaned up with degreaser and scotchbrite, luckily they were not too badly worn or damaged to start with although not perfect, The paint I used was a brush on Harrison beige from “paragon paints” and then a Harrison green for the cabinet And finally the leadscrew was like new still and covered in oil and grease which had protected it so after some degreaser and scotchbrite once again it come up like new Thanks Marc

KINZY1 looks absolutely stunning pal ! My M300 has a long way to go through, to get to the state of Yours :) I just bought myself the DRO and a 4kW VFD from Danfoss. Thanks for the hint with the paint. Kind Regards Mark

Hi. Your lathe looks great. I just bought one, it's in a blue colour and can't wait to get it looking nice. I am going down the rotary 4.4kw 3ph option to run the lathe but your VFD looks to works great and is a lot cheaper option and has got me thinking now. I have no electrical background so would struggle to wire things up I think. What's your opinion on which is best. Regards John

Rotary phase converters are great as you can just plug straight in and also plug other similar 3 phase machines in when needed, as i only had the one machine at home at the time the vfd was a lot cheaper at £89 and with a bit of searching and asking online it was easy enough to wire up and then worked from a 13amp socket although mine was run through a 16amp socket as that was what i had there already, so id say - single machine use a VFD, multiple machines use a rotary Thanks Marc

nicely refurbished lathe! my M300 is 2.6kW so 3kW VFD should be enough?

Hi Yes that should be fine, the only really strugglew if you try max rpm in the highest gear with cod thick oil which you should never be doing anyway Thanks Marc

Hi The DRO was from Goodwin Technology and it was quite easy to fit but does require drilling and tapping of the lathe castings Thanks Marc
