I didn't get out and get splittin today, but I did get a big score. My neighbor called and since his mom is in a home they have a woodshed that he said contained some wood I could have. By my count it was right at two face cords of split red oak that had been stored in a dry, ventilated shed for four or five years. Primo free wood right next door. It even had that Woodyard bowling pin sound. The tractor looks like a lot of fun and you're improving your lot. Win, win.

Love my Kioti. 👍 I put a hardened steel cutting edge on the bucket. Best $300 I ever spent. Cuts through rocks, roots, and ice. Plus it saves all that wear on your bucket which is only soft steel. 🍺

Nice! That would be great but after the berm I would probably never use it again.

Chris, I wrapped a piece of electrical tape around the leveling rod when the bucket was perfectly level to the ground, it makes it a little easier to go off the stick when trying to flatten and skim soil off the ground.

As I mentioned before if you want to get serious about putting a dent in that pile rent a toothed bucket for a weekend or now that you have that fancy new impact wrench buy a toothed edge for you bucket and you can put it on and take it off easily. That tractor is not broken in until you get it in some MUD! Lol Dave

I can't wait till the berm is gone and the final woodyard is fixed. Look at the bucket sag when the kioti is sitting idle! THAT'S why you don't work under a car without jackstands!

Tractor works good. But it is the operator that makes it work good. Nice job. Sure do like tractor videos. Did you do the messy locust clean up. Ohhh. Maybe not stacked yet. ? Have a good day. I’m back to plowing my gardens today. My tractor I use for plowing is a 1972 LGT 100 Ford garden tractor, with a Brinley single bottom 10” plow.

Hey Chris, you ever get your hands on any Hawthorne wood? Today, I went to dump my ash bucket out back, and stumbled upon a big bunch of what turned out to be hawthorne logs. (I had thought they were locust of some sort) SCORE! Way too wet to burn yet, but they are VERY heavy for their size- it was all I could do to get a couple of them in my truck, and they aren't even that big. The btu charts list it as having one of the highest btu contents. The funny part is I was on my way to pick up another truckload of wood, lol. It was he who identified the wood for me. He ended up loading me up with close to a face cord (I;d asked for a half) of pieces and chunks both. Mostly Ash and Beech, but oak, yellow birch, apple and etc too. Took some doing, but I got it all in my shed- AND still got the lawnmower and cart back in!

I drove a short hop in my Willys with the parking brake on, because it was one of my first new cars and I was a dumb kid lmao. I was wondering what that spattering, popping smell was when I parked. I had a heart attack of rage and regret when I figured it out x_x

Nice job with the tractor and video. Looks like the area you are clearing is getting pretty well packed/compacted. Maybe some rock for the alley way before stacking the area full of wood? Might make it easier to get in there with the trailer to load it out. I know you have a plan.

Okay Chris! Its time to wash the ole tractor. I was looking at another youtube video by one of your industry colleagues and was amazed at amount of damage that salt can have on equipment. Some of the metal components on his fairly new wood conveyor were already corroding badly.

Yup, salt destroys the equipment!

I'm wondering if you could sell that top soil as opposed to using it as fill. I think fill dirt is cheap to buy. I'm thinking you might be able to make a buck, might be worth looking into. Have a great day 😀

I want to make sure you realize this. Tractors and the vehicles you are used to are backwards from each other. In cars and trucks you push on the pedal to give it more fuel, and you move the lever to change gears. In tractors you move the little lever to give it more fuel, and push the forward and back pedals to change gears. If you push the go forward pedal harder you are changing to a higher gear and exchanging push power for speed. You have more push power to dig into a dirt pile when you push lightly on the go forward pedal.
@InTheWoodyard3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tips William!
