@@Doubie.This is unfortunate, and you do sometimes have to account for the fact that many people aren't bright. Years ago Sears got a new CEO and decided they were going to scrap a deceptive practice having things "on sale" when the normal price is way above retail and they're on sale the majority of the time. When they announced this however, all the public heard is that Sears wasn't doing sales anymore and the stock plummeted. They had to go back to the deceptive sales because people cared more about the feeling of getting a deal than actually getting a deal.

My love for Arizona Tea will never subside. Though I am with you, Kip. They're super high in sugar especially the ones I drink being Ginseng and Honey, but I only have those once in awhile. Hell, sometimes I may get them on sale for like .88 cents at a Kroger for the standard size which is a steal. Anyways, the guy owning the business really is something I live for and the being a family man like that is a truly a goal, indeed.

If i remember, a can of soda costs about $0.03 to manufactur, we're talking, like $0.22 for about 10 gallons of soda itself, the paint for the can, and the individual shipping cost per individual unit. Tea is just hot leaf juice, water and sugar... So, conceptually, it probably costs about the same because its the physical can that costs money not the drink...

What's crazy is that I went to places to see for myself if anyone was price gauging AZ Tea (apparently they're cool with it so long as you let them know and say why), not only is the 99 cents thing still true, but here in WI we have mega grocery stores called Woodman's, they're selling cans at a further loss of 79 cents! Makes me wonder about Wal-Mart and Meijer!
@brandonmercer499Ай бұрын
My WalMart in TX is selling them for 88 cents Edit: and it's not taxed at all
@pyro1047Ай бұрын
IIRC they have "99c" cans and blank cans, the distributor can buy the blank cans so they can price them higher, but Arizona Tea coincidentally price gouges those cans to incentivize them to just go for the 99c cans instead like AZ Tea wanted in the first place all along. And there's apparently a hotline they've got to report any distributor selling 99c Arizona Tea for more than 99c, so they can investigate any claims and if true, cut-off/"Excommunicate" that distributor and stop allowing then feom buying or selling AZ Tea. This is all just things I've heard, though; so who knows.

Ubermonster was amazing, but i never remember them being expressly large. They were named Uber-monster because Uber was german for super, or something along those lines, and they made their drink using the same process as brewing german beer. It was also at first, sold in thick glass bottles capped like beer, that were *not* twist off. and at least in my area, cost $5 a bottle. They later moved to aluminum cans, that I to this day feel doesn't taste the same, and later still just stopped showing up on shelves in my market area. You can still buy the glass bottles, but have to do it through 3rd part online retailers like amazon and independent sellers. since the monster website is just a marketing page, and I've yet to find a "buy it straight from us" area there, that isn't purchasing whole sell for distribution (i may just be dumb).

There was another tea in the same vein as Arizona I liked called Peace Tea. They also sold in big, pretty cans for 99 cents and had a bunch of flavors I liked. But the pretty designs are gone, there are fewer flavors and they cost $1.75 now. Arizona hasn’t changed
