The funny thing about him saying it's a whole bunch of dudes just looking up everything on Google. When Google or Amazon opened a brick and mortar store that was supposed to be completely ai-driven no employees and the cameras are supposed to be able to pick up everything that you got off the shelf and if you walked out of the store with it charge you for it it was actually a whole bunch of people in India just watching the cameras 24/7

Second thought kip. There is at least one donut video you could have valid commentary to. I’ll find the name to the video and post it in edit. It’s about a nerd playing with swords in a mental breakdown. Donut started doing multiple cases shortly before the video but you could cut it…. Like being a dude who’s been arrested a few times because crazy is sexy to me…. I felt bad…. On the topic of the border, my stance is we close it until we can deal with the rampant cartel drug smuggling. It’s not a fun idea, it’s not a pleasant idea, but our country needs to be prioritized first over anyone else in this situation, people have lost families because of this and it needs to stop

This is not a matter if opinion as it's been on the record. Within the last decade, the former President was in a televised meeting (main source CSPAN) about how there needs to be a wave of immigration. I won't go much further than that. The video was at least on KZbin, but it's not listed. You will have to go on a deep dive to find it. But the last 4 years of this problem, with the evidence at hand, all engineered to happened, from the horse's mouth.

The border is literally hundreds of miles long and cannot be "closed" the way everyone thinks it can. Even if it could be, it would have devastating effects on the economy. You also can't really stop the smuggling without also halting all trade because the vast majority of drugs passes through legal points at the border and there is just not enough time or manpower to inspect every single vehicle passing through those checkpoints. You can't do much about the supply; you have to do something about the *demand*

I think, ultimately, people doing bad things are why the people trying to improve their lives can't have nice things. There seems to be a fundamental overlap between things that are good for some people and enabling undesirable behavior. One example that I think needs much more productive discussion than it tends to get is the fact that any technology that truly enables free speech for people like dissidents and oppressed people also enables communication for criminals, and anything that would successfully curtail the criminal activity could also be used to clamp down on everyone else. The current "solution" tends to be trying to shut down the platforms, but that's potentially a big loss for everyone. Reality is complicated, and the problems that are big enough to get whole societies debating for decades about how to solve them are not usually the kinds of problems that have easy answers (or they'd just get solved). While I agree that we should be concerned about potential misapplications of things like declaring the cartels to be terrorists, we should also be concerned about the costs of doing nothing. I tend to lean towards the cost of doing nothing being higher, but then I'm also someone who believes that good communication can solve a lot of problems. Of course, the problem with that is that good communication is hard and requires those you are trying to communicate with to also be willing to communicate and to put in the effort required to do it well. But sometimes we have to forge ahead and deal with problems as they arise. If we decide that the people on all sides who aren't going to try to think like adults about issues are those we have to be careful not to give opportunities to reinforce their bad ideas, we're giving them the power in our society. If we're going to do that, I'd say that everyone will lose out, because we all will definitely be much worse off because of it.

@@chazo1367 Sadly common sense is nearly extinct among politicians. There is too many "cruelty IS the point" types in politics and they don't care if normal people get screwed so long as they get their personal political agenda implemented. We could point to every politician in the US for universally loving the tax cuts for the rich for instance. Democrats could have repealed them when they got power but didn't and now they are conspicuously silent once again that tax cuts for the rich are the main agenda. They all are rich after all. Too many rich at the table making all the decicions and almost no normal people with first hand experience off the economic pain politicians inflict upon us.

Though, that too has been deliberately cultivated by the GOP constantly attacking public education and propping up propaganda on social media and mainstream news, even *admitting* they want Americans to be stupider and less informed. Most people, for example, who have some opinion on the border and immigration, *don't actually know anything about how immigration or the border works* .
