I feel like this song is about Gumi experiencing a strong case of limerence over someone, then trying to draw him to vent her feelings. Ultimately failing to capture him "perfectly", and being so blinded by her infatuation, she starts to lose touch with reality trying to make her perfect piece of art. Idk, it's just my interpretation I guess. Whatever the true meaning is (if there is one) it's a truly fantastic song with phenomenal art!

I am really surprised at the lack of theories in this comment section, so here we go! Theory: Gumi is singing about how much she loves her producer, as they seem to understand her voice and write the perfect songs for her. However, she wants them to use her, and only her. This is about her feelings when the producer starts using other vocaloids. Evidence: *I've never seen a human so extraordinary; you're a perfect design, baby you're one of a kind* Obviously, Gumi is a vocaloid, and all her producers have been human. However, none of them seem to understand her voice/use her properly, until she meets this one producer who is extraordinary, and writes the perfect songs for her. You could say that they are the perfect design. *Been waiting all of my life, I want to call you mine* You see, most vocaloid producers don't only use one vocaloid; they use a variety of vocaloids. However, Gumi feels as though the producer works the best with her, and she wants them to work with her only. *And you know that everybody wants a piece of you* now, this means that the other vocaloids also want their own choice, but it also means that fans want the producer to work with other vocaloids. This happens a lot, you do see many comments like, 'oh god, if you work with Luka that would be so awesome!' *Every single inch of you's a ten* the producer is a 10/10 when they make songs :D *I ain't overreacting you really are a masterpiece* okay, for this line, the producer is especially a masterpiece because they know how to work with Gumi, something no one has done before. Therefore, to Gumi, they are a masterpiece. *The way you smoke that cigar, the way you play that guitar* playing that guitar = making music. The previous line was talking about how hypnotic the producer was, so Gumi is entranced with the way her producer just makes the music. *I don't mean to sound crazy or dramatic But you are everything I need* To put it simply, a vocaloid without their producer is nothing. So, the next line, 'if you want to, come with me,' Gumi is sort of begging her producer to use her. *I wanna see your magic now, You make me feel so high* The magic is referring to the amazing songs that Gumi's producer makes. She desperately needs to be used again, as it makes her feel something and gives her a high. Feeling so high could also be connected with the fact that she actually feels loved and craves that feeling. Connection with the video: Now, I feel as though all the torn paintings are the Gumi songs from other producers, and they just don't feel right. In the picture, Gumi is blindfolded. This could represent the lack of relationship she feels with her producer when her producer starts working with other vocaloids. Connecting with that thought, she feels like the other works her producer created with other vocaloids aren't as good as they would be if she sang them. I can't really say because I have different picks on different days (definitely more than 3 of his songs). Off the top of my head I will always click on Ladylike, Burn me Down and GETCHA if they show up recommended. MONSTER and Machine Gun are really good too (but I've listened to them a bit too much already). Piece of Art is also really amazing. I also love KIRA's covers of ECHO and AGAIN, especially AGAIN sounds sooooo fresh. From his newer works I especially enjoy i DO what i WANT and 4BLOOD. Basically, everything is good.

i think i was wrong about piece of art its not a song about suffocating love and the obsession to possess someone else its a song about narcissistic delusion i took a closer look at the music video and realized shes not painting anyone in a good light everyone's decapitated or killed in some other way and the green dress is torn and dirty someone hurt her really badly and now she's gone insane she snapped, and started to think that she was better than everyone else she started hating those around her which is why all the paintings show brutal depictions of others she thinks shes too good for everyone else when she says "everybody wants a piece of you" she's talking to herself and fooling herself into thinking that everyone wants her even though in reality they realize shes gone off the deep end all the lines in the song are her talking to herself, reassuring her that shes such a beautiful person the line "you are everything i need" (spoken to herself) is symbolic of how shes given up on everyone else and she wears a blindfold so that she can ignore the world around her so no one shatters her illusion it also explains the sickening, slow pace of the song too - its not attraction, it's a kind of burning misanthropy because shes choosing to hold onto her anger and direct it at everyone around her

I have a theory about the music video, the fact that she Is blindfolded and all the art around her is messy, to me it's symbolic of her being blind to his faults. Well, I mean. In the background, you can clearly see paintings of decapitated heads and paintings with faces scribbled out. I believe this song has a darker tone than can be heard on the surface. Perhaps, it's about a yandere? Or somebody who took love too far?

Flandre Scarlet Yeah, I'm getting the vibe that "I want to call you mine" is a little more literal than it would appear. The song's tone overall is more befitting of a sad, scary, or bittersweet song than the lyrics seem to portray. The visuals reflect this in the latter half. If I had to guess, I'd say the painter saw someone they immediately fell in love with and tried to paint them. Each time, they messed up and crossed out what they made mistakes in, hence why some are fully crossed out and others aren't. They began becoming obsessive and started thinking of the person as an artistic interest instead of a person, painting dark imagery like the red paint bucket representing decapitation in the person's clothes. This escalated to the point where they captured the person, trying to get any opportunity to paint from reference. The person resisted and wound up dying, hence why no perfect picture exists. The artist figured they could make paintings representing the person instead, like the red paint decapitation they painted before, and used the subject's blood and body (shown in the handprints on the wall) to make new pictures, but still nothing looked good. The artist gave up when the blood dried to the sickening brownish-black hue seen in the end. Nothing was left of the subject and nothing was gained. But that's just my interptetation of the story.

Now that I'm thinking about it, the allusions to the paintings' subject being kidnapped by the singer are all over the place. "I want to call you mine," "If you want to come with me," and "You're so captivating," all use phrases that allude to this and the handprints in the back of the image support this considering how all the paintings seem to relate back to the subject. The painting at the bottom right seems to be an image of a date. They're sitting at a table together and there are roses around the subject. This could show how the singer coaxed the subject into being captured. This may be going a bit far with the assumptions, but if the subject did try to escape, that implies a struggle before his death. That could be what caused the handprints and the torn canvases. After all, the singer crossed out mistakes, she's unlikely to have broken that pattern and torn them herself. If you notice, the torn canvases on the left have no red marks. The one on the far right does. If he attempted to escape but was cornered and tore paintings in desperation, he would then run to the center of the painting wall before getting injured. Then, he would attempt to feel or plug the wound before resting on the wall, leaving bloody handprints. He makes another break for it, kicks in the painting on the floor, puts his hand on the painting above it and getting blood on it, then once again gets cornered. He claws at the large canvas and soaks it in blood in the process. After that, his fate is unknown.

I have a theory about this song ... the girl (GUMI) wants to capture the "perfection" of that person she met ... or saw, so that's why she says it's a piece of art, something phenomenal / hypnotic / just the type that you need / the perfect design ... and that everyone will want a bit of it, that's why in a video scene you see that it is stained with something red (blood according to me) since I literally use it to create a "piece of art "as she says.
