Yes. Each squad has its own flower rep. And most of them does give some insights about the philosophy of different squads. For example squad 13 with Ukitake, Rukia and Kaien has insignia flower SnowDrop, meaning 'hope' which fits all 3 of them imo.

@@TalentedForeverOrg I don't think it's in the manga. But the new anime opening has all 13 flowers with their squads. Some of the info sadly never made it to manga. There are some data books for that purpose alone

I like these fights because they tell us a little more about the different philosophies of each squad. Just as each squad has a different flower to represent their principles. Ikkaku and yumichika share wanting to keep their true strength a secret but for different reasons, yumichika still has enough strength using a "fake" shikai to be able to be in the third seat of squad 11 is no small thing. And besides that he has shown to be intelligent and observant. And with kira we can see new kidos, in addition to his cold nature

KIRA IS SO COLD! Also it is refreshing to see all these lesser important characters get their shine. It is also good that we get their development along with it. And for me (Savvy) it was a tough call between these two fights but Charlotte did not do it for me. So I have to give the winner to Kira.

As Totally Not Mark pointed out, these fights aren't directly important to the progression of the plot which for some can be a negative, however, the cool part about these fights is that they're meant to develop side characters by giving you insight into their philosophies and how it correlates to their squads...which falls into worldbuilding that is often payed off eventually via Kubo's setups.

I'm pretty sure as a group we enjoy world building. We love when the side characters get their shine and we love the lore that comes with it. So these fights were definitely a treat for us!

TO ALL WHO ARE NOT WATCHING THE THOUSAND YEAR BLOOD WAR ARC: DO NOT READ THE REPLIES SECTION OF THIS COMMENT, SOMEONE IS SPOILING Kira doesn't get a whole lot of screen time, but he's my favoirte liuetenant simply because of how he finishes Abirama. So cold. Fun fact: Tite Kubo (the mangaka) has stated that if Kira were to ever attain Bankai, he wouldn't want to draw it because of how gruesome/depressing it would be.

Been waiting for Bleach upload. Recently found your channel and loving the bleach content but for some reason after I subscribed, I hadn't seen a single bleach upload. Finally, it's here. Kira is so cold. He was already one of favorite side characters but after this fight, he went even more up in my list.
