The reason most of us here feel nostalgic when listening is kinda because we observe the story of this song using the identity of a 'reader', or maybe because of the tune and the words used in the song is what made it sound nostalgic. (Words like: 'traveler' 'fairytale' 'melodies' 'memories' 'dream' 'stories' 'lost' 'forgotten'
@akuakkk19083 жыл бұрын
I believe it's the tune and image used which bring out the nostalgic feel. First time i heard this song, i don't have subtitle or anything. Just a solemn image and the song yet i feel nostalgic. Truly a great song

Now make sense why I felt so nostalgic, last night when I was re-read one of my oldest fantasy manga on my list something inside me kinda triggered when it using third person perspective. This song remind me again about that feeling when for the first time I read "pure" fantasy light novel without isekai nonsense

The fact that several of us feel nostalgic without knowing the lyrics is due to the modality of the song, in this specific case the Dorian mode is used. It is well known that this mode has a nostalgic feeling (Happiness with sad overtones) and also has a medieval-ish feeling.

Especially the portion about how wandering soon becomes a road travelled by thousands, millions, and billions of heroes, it almost perfectly ecapsulates the roles of named heroes and villains in the story being paths and archtypes that have been traveled so often they literally create grooves in fate), and then Botan and Gura sing it. Really love this.
