Ah waw. I share your childhood nostalgia. We had a very similar pool complex in Bolton called "The Water Place". 1988-2003. It was so modern with 2 tube slides, river rapids, wave machine, a seperate training pool, gym, cafe, classroom and spectator gallery. Sadly it had allsorts of expensive problems with the structure and was designed apparently for the water to be cleaned using UV light rather than chlorine. The council soon switched to chlorine after the UV system broke and they couldn't afford to mend it. The structure was damaged by the chlorine and after that there were almost new problems every couple of months until it was condemned. Every child of that generation loved it .

A WORD OF ADVISORY TO THOSE URBEXING or TRESPASSING IN THE OASIS: The building is a death trap! There are chemicals, exposed cabling, heights, slippery surfaces, broken glass and many hidden dangers! By trespassing in the Oasis you are putting yourself and others in danger! You are also putting the Oasis at even further risk than it is already. Some of you have said that you support the Oasis campaign. If that’s true, the best thing you can do is LEAVE IT ALONE! This is NOT an abandoned and derelict building! It is a building in limbo thanks to the inaction of Swindon Borough Council and Seven Capital. THE LEGALITIES OF TRESPASS: We know that you understand your ‘rights’ about entering into the Oasis. But whether it’s legal or not that doesn’t make it RIGHT and it doesn’t make it okay. Look at it this way: if a member of the campaign team walked past your house and saw the door was open, so thought they’d go in, have a look around and put graffiti on your walls would you think that was ‘okay’? I don’t believe so do you? Well, the same applies to the Oasis. So saying 'I didn't break a door or a window myself - I just went in through ones that were already broken into' is NOT a defense! You're still breaking in and it is STILL NOT OKAY!
