at 25:00 that's fiber coming in from the street (under). That used to be copper coming in, and feeding each floor. Judging by the age of the building, it was probably multiple floors of step by step equipment, or cross-bar and each floor was an exchange.

Those washing machine drums were for the Hotpoint 'WMA' range. The split tank design being held together with screws was a new concept for General Domestic Appliances for their range of washing machines, replacing a previous clipped together design. I would imagine GKN would have been fairly instrumental in providing fastners for this project, hence the drums being on site

How did you manage to get caught? Unless the cameras were working or a driver spotted you. Which would be a huge mistake. That's a £1000 fine. That's a big wedge of cash for most people. TFL know people try & get in on Christmas Day as the traction current gets switched off.

I used to work there, 90-92, the lifts would regularly break down, so we were taught how to release the brakes and lower the lift to the nearest floor so we could release the trapped occupants. This tower would sway something chronic in high winds. I was a fire NCO at this camp and if there had been a fire in the tower block we would’ve been in trouble, there was no wet or dry rising main, just a fire hose in a wooden box-woeful.

I mean ok but it’s kinda stupid because if that lift stops working you’re kinda screwed unless you can contact someone to come help you, but then there would be legal repercussions. It’s a cool video but not the smartest of choices.

Nice work , this place has been one of my obsessions since I found out about it 15-20 years ago. Did you enter by fulwood place behind the old chancery lane station or the furnival entrance? Recently passed by and noticed they've started work, entry doors look like they've been upgraded.

The pile of round things on the floor are microwave antennas. Used for high bandwidth comms links between towers and other tall buildings. Was the way to flip phone and data traffic quickly around the country from tower to tower until emerging at the "last mile" exchange. All done with IP these days
