I wish your channel and these videos were around 10-11 years ago when I got my first ever used Kirby!! You have empowered me and so many others to do repairs/fixes/tuneups that once seemed impossible. I remember back then getting as far as peering with a torch through the gap where the handle clip is, and seeing a bunch of parts and wires and thinking nope looks way too complicated to take apart and fix I'll make it worse!! 😂 thus as the clicking got worse then the pedal fell out my G7 was sadly relegated to the lonely loft. But these days thanks to you, I've been able to strip my G7 and other newly acquired models , all the way down to its individual components. Then service all the part's successfully and have it back together working with hours! Thank you for all you do. With the way things are going in our throw away society, machines that can be fixed at home and videos like this are becoming more and more of a valuable gem. So glad stumbled across your videos randomly a few months ago!! All the best 👍

Thank you so much for the video (and the many others as well), I've been having the most annoying intermittent transmission clicking noise with my Sentria 1 and Avalir 1, and I've completely ruled out the switch and the cam bracket, this video greatly helped me out with solving that mysterious clicking, it practically saved me from buying a new transmission.

Hi my switch fell out so took apart no problem all the parts were in there loose including the washer! HOWEVER upon putting the part back on the spleen I put it on in wrong position then when trying to tap it back out I BROKE it right at the base...NOW, to my question....Do I have to order a complete lever to get that small part or is it available? I see no part # only part #16 which is the lever complete...did I screw myself and now have to buy a complete lever to fix?

Mine was clicking so I took it apart to clean it since I replaced my fan impeller. I need 1 ball bearing for that shaft. I thought I dropped it and I took a magnet to everywhere on the table, floor, and inside what was left of the vacuum frame. What size are those so I can find the correct one?

Just picked me up a ultimate G, Which is otherwise Wallace besides the tech drive clicking, so I’m going to hopefully fix it with just the switch. I have a question though, are there any specific types of grease that you recommend? And any certain types of lubricant/oils? For the vacuum and do you use it on every part or are there different greases and Oils/lubes for different parts of the vacuum. Awesome video as always, thank you for all the information and help all the time!

The problem with my kirby avalir 1 with the tech drive is even when the tech drive pedal is on it still moves back and forth and I don't think it should be doing that so what's the fix for that if it's going back and forth when it's not supposed to be moving and also mine is very rusty on the inside

Hi mate! I want to repair the Tech Drive of my Sentria G10E. The issue is that the clutches might be the problem and broken, dry or whatever. The belt to the Tech Drive seems okay and driving the transmission gear. Inside the Tech Drive the belt looks also good. But when I feel the surface of the clutches they are really slick. The springs seems also good. How can I fix my Tech Drive? Is there a way to "reactivate" the clutches?
@KirbyEnthusiast4 жыл бұрын
Hi I did a step by step guide few wks back on how to maintain your tech drive . Should be one taking apart and part 2 re-grease and re-assemble . I recommend using grease as apposed to 3 in 1 oil . As the tech drive runs a lot smoother. Hope this helps . 👍👍

Hi Deano, I have a G4 and just took the tech drive out. It all seems o.k. and still no joy, but if I put pressure on the plate either side them when I turn the plastic drive wheel the main wheels will turn, once I release the pressure I get nothing? Do I adjust the tiny pins on one side of the plate?

It's o.k. I might have another look at it another time, it's just strange it's not working as the elderly person who it belonged too only used it very rarely so it shouldn't be warn out. I'll let you know how I go on.

Why is my kirby so loud in neutral?? When I'm using the hose attachment, I have to keep the transmission in Drive, but its annoying cause the vacuum keeps wanting to go backward
@KirbyEnthusiast2 жыл бұрын
Your Kirby will seem louder when using the hose as , the fan runs at a higher speed to allow for suction length of hose . Having the tech drive on when using hose should make any difference to the noise level . The transmission should be in neutral when using hose . Hope this helps . If not you could record the difference and upload to the Kirby Enthusiast Facebook group . So I can investigate more . 👍🔔

My Bad...Started before fully understanding what had to be done...LOL...so as usual the tuition will cost me a little. When you remove that part on the spleen (with the "T") it MUST go back on with the LINE lining up at 9 oclock with the D engaged...also it will not fit right if not aligned...I literally put it back on and tapped it down with a hammer THEN found out I had in wrong position...alas when I had to tap back out I used that part for leverage and broke it off at the base where it goes on. People if you do that as KE says you will HAVE to order a lever complete to get that part as it is not sold separately FORTUNATELY the entire lever with part is only a tad over 15 bucks and someone had that lever off countless times before me so the spleen bushings were very worn so i needed the lever anyway. Small price to pay for an education. KE, I saw on another utube where a guy took a saw and cut a notch in the spleen then put a "C" Clamp on the end so it wouldn;t back out again...What do you think about that fix?
@KirbyEnthusiast3 жыл бұрын
I Sa that same video,my only issue with that way is spline is aluminium and if you go to deep it could snap
