And its funny because the alternate edings match Anime and first playthrough: the main character just uses the robot and kills the boss with one drill attack The movie and true arena:the enemy lands one luck hit and the main character is forced to enter the enemy robot and fight the final boss's core with their bare hands

In the anime, the ending is similar to the base games ending. In the True Arena, what happens is similar to the movie's ending, where the pilot is forced out of the mecha and has to battle within the enemy (Star Dream Soul and the Anti-Spiral homeworld.)
