There's also a reference in Kirby Planet Robobot during the battle with the final boss. Kirby uses a small mech suit similar to Lagaan to assimilate a space cruiser and uses it to fight. If it’s ok, I’d like to point out one obvious Gurren Laggan reference you missed. It’s in Yugioh 5DS. During Yusei’s riding duel against Lawten(I honestly forgot his name at this point), Yusei uses a tuner monster called Drill Synchron which bares a striking resemblance to Simon’s mech. Not only that but Yusei uses it to summon a Synchro monster known as Drill Warrior which bares a striking resemblance to Gurren Laggan. This was intentional as Konami had a hand in helping with the making of Gurren Laggan. Those monsters are even real life cards at this point. Konami is no stranger to making hidden reference with their cards. Just look at all the space ship cards and tell me thay don’t remind you of Gradius. XD

ok i deserve a pin for this so at 5:02 your absolutly right that scene was taken right out of gurran laugann i finished watching it for a fourth time last week and i happen to know that when kamena( sorry if i spelled it wrong) was still alive he and simones spiral power filld up gurrann lauganns meter and they had the scene of them both yelling while showing the two of them added fact i forgot it was when they first fought virel they used the special move were they take off gurrans glases and pin the enemy

On the second one in kill la kill its not only boodah but if you look close at the pose of sanageyama next to satski you ll see that he is in the same pose as kamina with the sword on his shoulder

Lose his parents, lose his first love to a friend/brother, lose his brother, lose the trust of the ones he saved even though he didn't ask anything in return, get betrayed by one of this dearest friends, lose many, many friends that was all he got for his WHOLE LIFE and in the end when he did find love and can have some happyness she DIES in his arms! The reference in little witch academia is from the scene from the episode labeled “All the lights in the sky’s are stars.” when Simon pierced the anti spiral with laggans drill. It leaves the same shaped hole in the anti spiral as it does the monster.

Vividred Operation had another reference in another episode. When Akane's grandfather (who is in the body of a plushie otter) going to make some experiment, he put the Kamina glasses and even shouts "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM?" Crazy series.

The scene is of a Giga Drill Break, one of the later ones that was after Kamina died, Simon commits a Drill Break and as he is charging forward he appears charging next to the ghost of Kamina. I forget the episode but I know that’s what it is
