@@Emiliussss Hell, I'd argue the original Zero's worse than Zero Two in terms of official Kirby horror, they had way more experience with pixel spritework than polygonal models to really make the whole tearing-their-own-eye-out-of-their-main-body-to-continue-fighting thing appropriately gruesome even while remaining mostly consistent with the rest of Dreamland 3's srtstyle. As well as... well, like I said in another comment to this video, idk if brazenly spoiling Forgotten Land is appropriate just yet so I'll just leave it vague beyond something being in that game hehe ^^;

Tbh I feel that kirby should get some more horror games, I mean on the first glance kirby just looks like a silly kids game but when you look a little harder you find scary stuff, a really good example is zero from kirby dreamland 3 and also kirby 64 where it litterly bleeds from its eye, So I'm suprised kirby hasn't gotten more horror material in terms of horror/exe games.

Literally all of the Dark Matter bosses are depicted as basically being demons, requiring special celestial weapons (such as the star rod, the crystal shards, etc) to harm, while you also have bosses like Meta Knight who wanted to become a dictator just because he thought people being relaxed and happy was a bad thing, and Marx who is a literal clown, yet who got the sun and the moon to fight just to dupe Kirby, the destroyer of worlds, into getting him his ticket to godhood, only for Kirby to emotionlessly kill him without hesitation, no sense of betrayal, no disbelief or questioning of why Marx is doing this, just Kirby seeing Marx' treachery and automatically, coldly, seamlessly making the choice to put him out after he reveals his true colors.

I feel like the reason there are so few horror Kirby games is mainly due to the fact that the main series does a good job doing horror on its own. Its never in your face, mostly subtle, and just changes how you look at the pink puff after you start delving into that rabbit hole. And to think that its because of one mysterious developer making Kirby 2 on GB and thinking "Yes, I did just make lore in a game that didn't need it... but absolutely deserves it."

Canonical Kirby lore aside, there's actually a scary piece of Kirby fan media that's not a fan game of the pink puffball's home franchise. Said media is called TMK, and it's a Kirby analog horror series made by Maple Riot. I haven't watched it yet, but it's kinda cool. And spooky, so it would be a neat watch for anybody who is into that sort of thing.

Ironically, as people have pointed out... Despite how Kirby's just a hungry pink ball running around green fields, part of his routine is fighting world ending or horrific enemies (Zero, Marx, Void Termina, and more recently Elfilis). Probably worse than just evil blood-exe versions of himself too, even if not necessarily what the average M-Rated game often does. So the real question is whether there's not horror because Kirby's presented as innocent, or that it's already scary if you're a fan that did research?

I'm three minutes in writing this first half of my comment and I can already make a healthy estimate that nothing here compares to the actual canonical instance of a final boss attacking you by slicing itself open to shoot blood at you, then graphically ripping its own eye out and that eye chasing you around and shooting more blood at you.... ...okay, while the bit of traveling through Kirby's guts was bad for Personal Squick Reasons, that's not exactly territory Nintendo hasn't been willing to explore themselves before (Jabu-Jabu in OoT, Yoob in Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time, the main premise of Bowser's Inside Story) and the Zero fight is _definitely_ more horrifying. I'm also tempted to mention something from one of the most recent Kirby games but uhhhhh are we still in Spoiler Zone for that one? I'd argue Dreamland 3 is fair game to be open about spoilers moreso than Forgotten Land which is why I brought that up at all, but eh. (edit: legit forgot Dream Buffet and Return to Dreamland Deluxe existed, so Forgotten Land _isn't_ the most recent game anymore even if I didn't count RtDLDX for remake reasons lol)

As a child i dreamt that i was stuck with my Nintendo DSi XL stuck on wasting it's own battery power, after i played a haunted kirby Superstar Ultra ROM file on it. Where that scrapped Haunted Castle Side Story Sakurai himself thought up one day, was added/unlocked somehow yet... unfinised? (Kirby's mouth was still on his FACE and that wasn't a part of that scrapped idea) but the momment i went into a door... i was confirmed to play a haunted piece of tech that should've been LEFT IN A SKIPFLAME! (at least the reveal of that was better performed than whatever the people behind SMB WONDER was copying before it getting WEE'd on) I was then playing a Super Mario Galaxy... 2(?) inspired spiral with Old Fashioned SG/SMD Sonic 1's "You've got 5 counts before you lose a life, if you don't catch any type of nearby air" OST and when i FINALLY got out of the spiral i swear something was after me, so i wanted to try a different game. But all of it's content was force downloaded on my DSi XL, so i tried to turn the thing off as many times as i can. But wow the ones are much more preferable than what kinda nightmare i had that HORRIBLE night! Not sure if Sakurai's scrapped content of that unreleased side story, i prefer it NOT being in development untill i die!
