Pokemon is already a creepy franchise, from Lavender Town to Creepy Pokedex Entries, However there also exists quite a few horror fan games, and today I'll be taking a gander at some, such as Lost Silver and Hypno's Lullaby! Will they be good? I dunno lol.

Hypno's Lullaby does actually have a secret ending if you can run away from the initial Hypno fight (It's literally just the creator's FireRed save) Additionally, the Lost Silver remake was a collab with the original copypasta writer and the guy who made the game, with the added parts being planned to be in the original creepypasta but cut due to length limit. They went off the radar before the story could be fully explained though.

I like Dylan the Knight Owl’s i terpretation of the story (he made like a 12 hour iceberg video on tonnes of creepypastas, defo recommend!) he interpreted the story as one about a famous and successful trainer eventually dying, slowly being forgotten, losing parts of himself as the years go by until he fades away into nothing.

Lost silver is about the main character (Silver) being in purgatory, learning to accept his death after a long time denying it.

Incorrect the modern take is more akin to an accident happened trying to save silver, basically Gold tried to bring celebi to a battle against ho-oh, lost, and was effectively forced to use a mysterious item found in the ruins of alph to completely rewrite the code to bring celebi back and save them both. Problem is, gold made a bad egg and somehow made it hatch into a blind cyndaquil. He goes into tin tower to find celebi's corpse, he tells him to stay away, and from that point all hell breaks lose to point of red having to step in and silence the chaos, before both return to the afterlife. (See re: lost silver as to the reference point of the {_} item and the currently canon version of the story)

Hearing the Lavender Town's theme song has never been the same ever since it left an impact on the ears of Japanese children to the point of becoming an urban legend on the Internet today, spawning a lot of creepypastas and horror games that were inspired from it. In the world of Pokemon horror games, you never catch 'em all. It catches you instead.

1:57 I just got to this part, but that white hand isnt entirely made up. There is a genuine line from a girl in lavender town, where if you tell her that you dont believe in ghosts, she says "Teehee! Of course! That white hand on your shoulder; It's not real." Which is really weird for a pokemon game, and was even included in the "let's go" remake

Easter Egg: Snow on Mt. Silver was my favorite creepy pasta as a kid. Although, Cursed Black was a second favorite. in fact, I love a lot of these Pokémon horror games. I just wish that most of them got completed and finished instead of cancelled

1:55 I think the thing with Burried Alive was like it would somehow replace the final trainer in the tower and it would use White Hand because of the person outside of the tower talking about a hand on your shoulder if you tell her ghosts aren’t real or something and then you have to lose to Burried Alive and when you do he’d say something about fresh meat and then he’d eat you or something and then somehow Burried Alive would replace your Gameboy’s boot screen so that trying to play any game would cause the game over screen to appear or something. Also I distinctly remember the original story claiming that the game over screen was stored as a png file despite A. The boot sector of a Gameboy not being able to hold that much data, and B. The Gameboy cannot display any regular file formats because it can only read 2BPP compressed graphics data.

I think the game over screen just bricked the cart, not the entire Gameboy. And it had some kind of insanity-causing anomaly that I don't think was just the Lavender Town music but I'm not totally sure.

My personal favorite was Strangled Red, yeah its edgy af, but I love how it goes into the possible lore of a champion before Red or Garry/Blue though now I jokingly call it "A Dramatic Version Of A Failed Nuzlocke" Snow On Mt.Silver is a close second but the creepy Pikachu kinda kills it Another one I remember kinda liking was Blues Tears but looking back its so damn edgy (yeah most creepypastas were stupidly edgy) FNF did get me back into pokepastas and I loved the take on Strangld Red and other pokepastas such as Mt.Silver and of course Lost Silver

Another detail about Lost Silver - in the menus, the character portrait would gradually get more and more mutilated, losing limbs and body parts as the player progressed. Also, while it’s hard to tell from the angle of the sprite, the Celebi in the player’s inventory has only the right half of its body.

The OG Red version was my initial start into becoming OBSESSED with Pokémon! I remember when I first saw Drowzee, I instantly fell in love with it! Then, when it evolved into Hypno, then it was my all-time overall favorite Pokémon! Then Espeon got introduced in gen2, Gold and Silver, and then Espeon became my new all-time overall favorite Pokémon! Hypno is still my number one favorite gen1 Pokémon! The ancient Japanese folklore of The Baku will always be my favorite piece of ancient Japanese folklore and Hypno being based off of that is why it's still my favorite gen1 Pokémon! ❤

I used to think lavender town syndrome was real, since I got exposed to the pokemon creepypastas when I was very young. White hand and buried alive also terrified me as a kid to the point I didnt want a Gameboy and copy of pokemon gen 1 anymore, this was way after they were able to be purchased via retail but weren’t as expensive as they are now.
