I’m just finding out about it through this video, I’m assuming it has something to do with Hardin’s POV and descent into madness? Super cool idea if so, cool project regardless! The events of the .exe game are meant to be like a fake reality that the darksphere is showing to Hardin, where Nyna loves him and Marth is an evil that needs to be destroyed, which leads him to do his evil deeds in the real world that happened during Mystery Of The Emblem. That's why at the end of the game there's a cutscene where it shows Hardin then it glitches to Emperor Hardin because it switched perspectives to the real world. Glad you thought it was cool.

A wii fit horror game could be absolutely horrifying both in its execution and its implications, where no matter how many exercises you undergo (probably actually just following sequences of key presses, since it would be hard to pull off with an actual exercise function), you gain weight rather than losing it, going through more absurd, more gruelling exercises all the while. The character model is growing thin and atrophied, but the weight counter still keeps going up, until eventually your character outright crumbles, breaking muscle and bone through overexertion. It could serve as a pretty poignant metaphor for the obsession with the perfect body and the dangerous lengths people go to get it, perhaps even cut up with food prep sequences where the portions get gradually smaller until you're just eating weight-loss supplements.

I FW THIS HARD. ngl i also had another take for a hypothetical wii fit game ngl. ( basically, the game as usual starts normally but eventually as the cracks start to seep in until it's eventually revealed that you are playing as a patient who constantly kept trying to get the perfect body, also similar to your take until they straight up pass out and needed to get taken to the hospital due to malnourishment and other health issues, and now you find out wii fit was sort of a metaphor of them going into physical therapy and trying to stay alive until they could finally see their family which they might have disregarded throughout the whole time, the people that tried to stop them from going overboard, but eventually, they go into a coma, they couldn't take it anymore. despite their efforts, it was all for nothing. during the last stages of the game, everything is just pitch black, which only the trainer in sight, with a distant but audible beep sound, and just before they finish the last excercise, they succumbed to their death, the beeps which we're actually from a heart monitor stop, the protagonist has died, and there was nothing you could do to stop that. )

This is such a good idea since it also serves as a visual metaphor for how the psyche of people with anorexia get twisted into seeing themselves as fat or obese when in reality they’re shriveling away, I think the inverse would also work for this (I.e your character STAYS fat or even gets fatter after they eat even the tiniest portion of food, even while the scale shows smaller and smaller numbers, until the player character slumps over, dead from malnourishment and fatigue, and the illusion finally stops, showing the player what their character actually looked like, like that weird baby Voldemort from the last HP movie, just skin and bones…

Much like with Kirby, it has too many elements of horror within it's framework to leave good ideas on the table. Like, the mindset of "well the source game did it, why should we?!" hits hard and that's probably why not a lot of horrror games for Xenoblade are out. @@dontage815 persona 4 already veers on horror themes at times with it being a murder mystery, and persona 2 has nyarlathotep as the main villain so it'd actually work pretty well. NGL I'd never gotten around to it but I have an idea for a persona analog horror that kinda leans into the cosmic horror feel- the idea was in atlus' research into the occult they actually summoned something and made a deal that they'd have fame and fortune with their new series if they sacrificed one person for every new game in the series

Sonic Gather Battle kinda counts as one, because as you play, it starts normal, going up against other Sonic characters as Sonic, but eventually you enter a match against three Ghosts from Sandopolis Zone that you cannot win against. Eventually, they swarm Sonic, and the program closes... only for a jumpscare by the Ghosts happen seconds later, then the real horror happens. The game starts copying the contents off your computer, including sensitive info like your IP address, sending it to the creator from Japan, and deletes it off your computer. It even goes as far as deleting critical data that is required for your computer to run, such as System32. To this day, no one has ever found the creator of that cursed fangame.

With mr game and watch, he was a concrete character that you had to play as in Smash bros (there was no option to “customize” him) and he’s really his own character at this point. With Mii Fighters, in the game they’re really only meant to be used with your own custom miis, not the default ones in the game art, so for me it just made sense to just count miis in general. Apologies if i caused any confusion :)
