I own one of these vaccums and this breaks my heart 😭. Granted I got mine for free as I inherited it from my grandma when she passed. I use it every time I clean my room. Works great. But it’s still a good entertaining video Also you’d have to have a lot of money to destroy one of these vaccums unless you got it for free lmao 😂

After you jammed the motor, I realized how crappy it is that a vacuum cleaner that expensive new does not have a simple overload shutoff switch.

Maybe it doesn’t have a cutoff switch, but think about it. A vacuum cleaner isn’t designed to be jammed up like that. And in the case where something was caught in the impeller, the user would shut it off before it burnt up. So there really isn’t a reason to complain that it doesn’t have a cutoff switch. Because like I said it’s not designed in a way where that it’s necessary.

Our g3 growing up was making a burning smell for weeks but vacuuming fine, turns out a sock was stuck around the fan and causing the motor to smoke after hair and other things caused it to jam up completely and wear prematurely, I mean it still worked but would be nice if these expensive machines had a safety

You can't overload a Kirby under normal conditions. Lol trust me. 🤣 also notice the screw driver jammed into the safety switch for him to be able to do this. Otherwise he wouldn't have been able to turn it on unless something was attached to the front

Not even a new motor, re magnetise the field coil, replace motor brushes, clean commutator and It will work like new!

I love Kirbys and while I don't like seeing one destroyed, it was still entertaining. I saw in a couple of his replies that he donated money to get it. If the thrift store couldn't sell it, then it was gonna end up in the scrap anyways. Also I know Kirby's are expensive, but they aren't rare by any means. You can find them at thrift stores and eBay all day long. So it isn't like he is destroying a valuable vacuum.

Lol overrated heavy vacuums people pay ridiculous prices for, I got a g6 at a church rummage sale once for 25 bucks, sold it in about a month on craigslist for 165, no hose, extra bags, just the vacuum, and even the Dyson's people want 150 and up for in working shape, I got my refurbished dc33 with a water bottle cap jammed at the end of the hose blocking the suction, removed cap and it works great, someone's ex landlord threw that one away haha

Can’t you not read?..... so donating money for a vacuum that the thrift store was otherwise throwing away due to issues is a waste of money?! The thrift store could not sell this vacuum in its condition. I donated $10 or $20 for it I don’t remember. That’s not a lot of money.. and the video has made way more than that back

I haven’t removed any comments unless they get out of hand... so I should’ve just passed it up? And let the thrift store scrap it? That’s where it was going... so I donated for it. That thrift store wouldn’t of contacted me or scrapped a Kirby unless it was beyond repair. There in-house vacuum repair guy attempted at it. Generally the kirbys they get if working they sell and usually get a good amount off of them. This one had several issues. It did come with a lot of the original attachments which will be donated to collectors when I get the time.
